2021 looks bright for ‘The Belt Collector’

Read Time:1 Minute, 14 Second

“The Cleaner” or I should say “The Belt Collector” Kenny Omega recently retained the AAA Mega Campeonato in an outstanding match against Laredo Kid at TripleMania XVIII.

Ever since Kenny Omega turned heel and won the AEW Championship, the world of pro wrestling has been paying attention to Omega and every move he makes. His appearance on IMPACT drew big for the promotion on TV and Twitch. Omega also helped AAA’s numbers on Facebook and YouTube for TripleMania.

So what is next for “The Belt Collector?”

The IMPACT World Championship

It seems like Kenny Omega and Rich Swann (current IMPACT World Champion) might be clashing soon. A match between these two wrestlers would be a fun watch.

Omega winning the championship could be what IMPACT needs to get attention to their product. Omega as IMPACT World Champion could face some interesting wrestlers like Chris Bey, Josh Alexander and many others on the roster.

What other titles could the belt collector obtain?

AEW has a somewhat of a working relationship with the NWA. A match between Nick Aldis and Kenny Omega for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship would interesting. Also, seeing Jim Cornette’s reaction of Omega holding that title would be hilarious.

Kenny Omega has a great relationship with Sashiro Takagi (current president of NOAH and DDT) so there’s a possibility of Omega becoming GHC Heavyweight Champion, however, this option is very unlikely.

There’s always the speculation of “the forbidden door”, but this is a very unlikely scenario.
