Next matches to make for winners and losers of UFC London: Till vs. Masvidal

Read Time:5 Minute, 18 Second

Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal made their return to the Octagon for UFC’s return to London, England.

In the co-main we saw Leon Edwards defeat Gunnar Nelson. We also got to see Dominick Reyes continue his undefeated ways against the durable Volkan Oezdemir.

Who should the winners and losers of UFC London meet next?

Here are some of the fights that really stood out on the undercard of UFC London.

1. Mike Grundy def. Nad Narimani via second-round TKO.

In the opening fight of the night, submission specialist Mike Grundy made his UFC debut against Nad Narimani, where he was victorious.

Mike Grundy: Let’s see Grundy get back in the gym and keep working. I wouldn’t mind seeing him fight anybody at featherweight. This is his very first UFC fight and I’m interested to see what they decide to do with him next!

Nad Narimani: Narimani should go back to the drawing board and work on his game. Work on his stand-up. I expect that he will want to take a couple months off from the Octagon and make a return by late Summer, if he’s ready.

2. Dan Ige def. Danny Henry by first-round submission (Rear-Naked Choke).

Hawaii-native Dan Ige had an impressive first-round finish of Danny Henry, landing him his third-straight win in the UFC.

Dan Ige: Give him somebody in the featherweight top-15. Let’s see Dan Ige vs Calvin Kattar.

Danny Henry: Henry should fight Michael Johnson. I believe Johnson is a top un-ranked competitor in the featherweight division and it would be a solid challenge for Henry.

3. Marc Diakiese def. Joseph Duffy via unanimous decision.

Marc Diakiese was able to snap his 3-fight losing streak with a big victory over Joseph Duffy.

Marc Diakiese: Let’s see Diakiese vs Gleison Tibau next. Tibau is an underrated lightweight in the division. It would be a good scrap!

Joseph Duffy: Duffy didn’t look too good in this fight. Maybe Duffy takes some time off to work on his game and figure some things out. Maybe he can take a fight with Beneil Dariush on his way back in!

Here are the results for the Main-Card fights of UFC London!

1. Jack Marshman def. John Phillips via split decision.

Jack Marshman: This win brings Marshman to 3-3 at middleweight in the UFC. He should take some time off then come back to challenge a couple more unranked opponents. His recent fights have been kind of up and down, he loses a few then wins a few. Let’s see him come back and prove himself against a couple more guys in the division before thinking about a ranked opponent.

John Phillips: Phillips is in a bad position with the UFC after this loss to Marshman. He is now on a 3-fight losing streak, with an 0-3 UFC record. This guy needs to take some time to work on his game then come back and get a big win. I imagine that he might be on the current chopping-block with the UFC, having lost 3 in a row now, so let’s just see what happens next.

2. Claudio Silva def. Danny Roberts via round-three submission.

It was said that Danny Roberts “verbally tapped” while in the arm-bar… very controversial decision.

Claudio Silva: Silva is now 13-1 professionally and 4-0 in the UFC with this victory. He is currently riding a 13-fight win streak and is still undefeated, ever since 2007. The guy has been undefeated for 12 years now. Let’s see him against a top-15 opponent next. Silva vs Rocco Martin.

Danny Roberts: Roberts is now 5-3 in the UFC, including this current loss. Let’s see him make a quick turn-around and fight Sergio Moraes this Summer!

3. Nathaniel Wood def. Jose Quinonez via second-round submission.

Nathaniel Wood: This win brings Wood to 16-3 professionally and 3-0 in the UFC. He is currently riding an 8-fight win streak and undefeated since 2016. Let’s see Wood vs a top-15 bantamweight contender next. I’d say Wood vs Ricky Simon or Thomas Almeida.

Jose Quinonez: This loss to Wood brings Quinonez to a 4-1 UFC record and 7-3 professionally. Quinonez has looked good otherwise, up until this point. Let’s see him take some time off to work on his ground game. Then, get back in there later this year and fight some more unranked contenders.

4. Dominick Reyes def. Volkan Oezdemir via split decision.

Dominick Reyes: Reyes didn’t look too good in this fight, in my opinion. But a win is a win. He has to move up. Let’s see him vs Jan Blachowicz when he returns.

Volkan Oezdemir: Volkan looked good in this fight, in my opinion. Let’s see him vs Ilir Latifi next.

5. Leon Edwards def. Gunnar Nelson via split decision.

Leon Edwards: Leon had a good performance in this fight. Let’s see him vs Darren Till next. That would be a good scrap!

Gunnar Nelson: Gunnar’s last few fights have been up and down. He wins a fight then loses a fight. I think he should take some time off and work on his game. Then come back this summer and take another top contender.

6. Jorge Masvidal def. Darren Till via KO in round 2.

Masvidal was down but not out in the first round of this fight. He was knocked down early but came back in the second round to finish the fight by knockout. He caught Till with a fierce left hand that put him out and the referee stepped in almost immediately. Masvidal is definitely going to make a huge jump in the rankings after this win.

Jorge Masvidal: Let’s see Masvidal vs literally anybody in the top 10, besides Wonderboy and Maia, of course. I would be interested in so many fights for Masvidal. Maybe Lawler? Ponzinibbio? Edwards? Askren? The possibilities are endless.

Darren Till: Let’s see him vs Leon Edwards or Ponzinibbio next. Both of those would be good, fun scraps for the fans!
