New Year’s Eve will go out with a literal bang this year as undefeated Patchy Mix and Yuki Motoya square off in a bantamweight battle.

Mix (12-0-0), from Angola, NY, has been an unstoppable force with fighting experience in the Prodigy, King of the Cage, and Bellator promotions. In his Bellator premier, “No Love” submitted Ricky Bandejas at 1:06 of round 1 with a rear naked choke. In his last Bellator outing he won by an impressive suloev stretch against Isaiah Chapman also in the first round.

Michael Lyubimov, General Manager at Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, NM told The Scrap that “Patchy has been working triple time for this event. It’s definitely a really big opportunity for everyone involved”. Lyubimov remarked that Bellator’s best will battle RIZIN’s best which makes this fight a rare type of event. “I am sure Patchy knows how important this is,” said Lyubimov,” and he is making sure all of his bases are covered. He is a winner and he will come out victorious, as always”.

Thirty-year-old Yuki Motoya (23-7-0) has held the bantamweight and flyweight titles in DEEP. He represents CB Impact in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan. Motoya’s last win was in December 2018 at RIZIN 14 where he defeated Justin Scoggins (12-6-0) via submission at 3:28 of round 1. Since then, he has two decision losses against Victor Henry and Hiromasa Ogikubo.

This will be an exciting match to ring in the New Year. The bout will go down at RIZIN 20 on December 31 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan, and will be available to watch on FITE PPV.
