The feuds to make for Roman Reigns on SmackDown Live

Read Time:2 Minute, 51 Second

Now that the dust has settled on the Superstar Shake-up, it’s time to take a look at some of the biggest acquisitions. Arguably, the biggest superstar switch was Roman Reigns showing up on SmackDown Live.

With a new yard to claim, who should Roman Reigns feud with on the blue brand?

#3. Daniel Bryan

Starting off my list is Daniel Bryan. Now he’s #3 on this list because we don’t really know what’s going on with him, but I’m assuming he will be okay to return. This seems like a natural feud to make if I’m honest, and it would be fantastic for both men. It’s no secret that WWE wants Roman to be a face, and if there’s one feud that could accomplish that goal, it’s with Daniel Bryan. Not to mention the two have history, Roman beat Bryan at Fastlane 2015 to face Brock at WrestleMania 31. They’re both also really good wrestlers and I think people forget how Roman can be in the ring. I also believe Roman’s promos will be much better in the looser SmackDown environment, if they let him be himself he could be fantastic on the mic. WWE likes to “re-ignite” feuds and they could easily revisit this mini-feud from four years ago.

#2. Finn Balor

I don’t want Roman to go after the WWE Championship straight away and it seems WWE doesn’t want him too either, with him taking on Elias at Money in the Bank. A feud for the mid-card title would be perfect for Roman, because it’s not too big of a spotlight so the fans won’t get sick of him like if he was feuding for the world title. Also, every time Finn and Roman have met in the ring, it has been fantastic. For whatever reason, their styles seem to blend extremely well. They have traded wins over each other and this could be a huge feud if WWE treated it properly. I would like for Finn to retain over Roman, but him winning the Intercontinental Championship would be a good spot for him and would allow Finn to chase the WWE Championship.

#1. Kevin Owens

The number one feud I want to see for Roman right now on SmackDown, is vs Kevin Owens. We’ve seen a Roman vs Owens feud, but at the time Owens was with Jericho and was more of a goofy heel. Owens seems to be going back to his NXT roots as a ruthless, dominant heel and I want to see that Kevin Owens feud with Roman. If you’ve seen Kevin’s heel work in NXT you know how sinister he can be as a heel. Since Roman came back, he seems to be much more chill, and a chill Roman vs a sinister Kevin Owens would be a fantastic promo. This doesn’t even need a Championship, and it could just be started by Kevin attacking him. Not to mention if you go back and watch the matches between the two, they were all extremely solid matches. I think Kevin will win the WWE Championship by the end of the year and a win over Roman would be a huge push for Kevin. This is the feud that should happen, and if done correctly, could be huge heading into SummerSlam.
