Wednesday Night Wars: AEW Dynamite Week 19 Review

Read Time:2 Minute, 31 Second

This week’s episode of Dynamite was celebrated in Alabama’s Von Braun Center. A lot of things happened in this week’s episode of Dynamite and one thing is for sure, people will talk about this episode for a long time.

Jon Moxley def. Ortiz

This bout was really entertaining, and Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara were awesome on commentary. After the match Jon Moxley attacked Santana’s eye with the keys of the car Chris Jericho gifted to Moxley a few weeks ago.

SCU def. Best Friends w\ Orange Cassidy

This match was good and showed how well this team works together. After the match, The Dark Order attacked everyone until Christopher Daniels appeared and The Dark Order left the ring.

Yuka Sakazaki def. Britt Baker

This match was not very good, but the result was very surprising. After the match, Baker attacked Sakazaki with the ring bell and then proceeded to put Sakazaki’s mouth on the third rope and kicking it. After this, Sakazaki showed that her mouth was bleeding and a few of her teeth were broken. Really good post-match attack from Baker.

BBB & Lucha Bros def. The Elite & Hangman Page

This match was awesome and every team involved looked great. This match had a lot of storytelling coming from Hangman not wanting to tag The Bucks, and only working with Kenny Omega.

After the match, PAC appeared on the Titantron and teased he was going to attack Riho only to swerve everybody and letting Nyla Rose powerbomb Riho into a table. This last segment was good and continued two ongoing storylines.

Kip Sabian w/ Penelope Ford def. Joey Janela

The feud between these two wrestlers has been underwhelming and has not connected with people. This match, despite being good, did not resonate with fans. This feud needs to end and give Janela something else to do.

Alex Marvaez interviewed The Inner Circle

This backstage segment was great, and Santana made an amazing promo challenging for a match after what happened earlier in the night.

Cody received 10 lashes from MJF

This segment was incredible. It had a lot of storytelling in it like the last lash was to Cody’s chest where his tattoo in honor of his dad is located.

Brandi, Dustin and The Young Bucks did a great job playing the role of friends and family of Cody and telling him to not give up .

MJF and Cody were incredible in this segment and were complete stars. Cody is the ultimate babyface in AEW and MJF once more proves why he is one of the best heels in the business.

Rating

This episode was good but once again, the women’s division match was a low point and Jim Ross on commentary wasn’t so good.

The match of the night was the 8-man tag. People will talk about the last segment of the show for days because of what happened. Cody and MJF were the MVPs of the show without a doubt.

Rating: B+
