WWE WrestleMania 35 Predictions

Read Time:20 Minute, 23 Second

WWE WrestleMania 35 takes place this Sunday, April 7 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

At the grandest stage of them all, Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch for both Women’s Championships will main event the evening, this is the first time ever that women will main event a WrestleMania. We’ll also see WWE Champion Daniel Bryan defend his title against fan favorite, Kofi Kingston, a matchup between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and Women’s Battle Royal will take place, and more.

Check out our staff predictions below.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Buddy Murphy vs. Tony Nese

Joel: Mr. Alexa Bliss is absolutely winning this. It’s sad that this belt is often forgotten and there hasn’t been much spotlight on this matchup, but it is definitely going to be good one. Murphy has been on a roll lately and I don’t see them putting this belt on Nese for some reason. I’m hoping Buddy can make an impact with all eyes on them, getting him more of a storyline next PPV.

Buddy Murphy def. Tony Nese.

Austin: I think this will be an amazing match and it blows my mind that people are still sleeping on the Cruiserweight division. That being said I think Murphy has done everything he can with the Cruiserweight championship, and I think it’s time for Tony Nese to pick up the title. It makes sense in story and I just think Nese deserves this championship so much.

Tony Nese def. Buddy Murphy.

Sanjay: Mr. Alexa Bliss should get the win here.

Buddy Murphy def. Tony Nese.

Greg: I have to go with And Still, Buddy Murphy.

Buddy Murphy def. Tony Nese.

WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal

Joel: This is a tough one to predict. Asuka recently loss her belt and outside of her, the only other women getting attention is Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. I don’t really have a real reason on my decision, this one will be a pick-em fight for me. I have to go with Rose, considering her recent storyline against Naomi and her title match against Asuka. It’s time they build someone up…

Mandy Rose wins the Women’s Battle Royal.

Austin: This one is really tough because the SmackDown Women’s title has been thrown to the side. I think the obvious answer here would be Asuka, but that seems way too easy. They haven’t really built anybody up to be a real clear contender for this match, so this comes down to a guessing game for me. I’m also going with Mandy, because I don’t think there’s any other contenders.

Mandy Rose wins the Women’s Battle Royal.

Sanjay: After losing the belt so unceremoniously last Tuesday, and then clearing the ring of everyone on this weekend’s SmackDown, I have to think Asuka will be walking away with the win. Hopefully, she will turn it into some momentum, after her wasted time with belt and last year’s Royal Rumble victory that turned into nothing.

Asuka wins the Women’s Battle Royal.

Greg: I’m going with Asuka on this one.

Asuka wins the Women’s Battle Royal.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Joel: I think this match I won by Andrade or Ali, they seem to be the most who need it right now and the future of WWE. Andrade is one of my personal favorites, so I think it’s time to give him the push he deserves for a WWE title. I honestly hope he fills in for Mysterio in the United States Champion matchup. So I’m going with Andrade, unless he gets pulled. Then, Ali.

Andrade win’s the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Austin: I don’t really know who to pick for this one. I don’t think Braun will win because I think he will elimate himself while going after the Saturday Night Live guys. So he’s out of the picture, they haven’t really pushed anybody as a front runner so this is a complete guess on my part. For no real reason other than my gut I am going with Apollo Crews to win. I think this win could really help Apollo and he deserves a Mania moment. I think there are any number of people that could win this match, but just because I have a feeling I am picking Apollo Crews.

Apollo Crews wins the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Sanjay: The build to this match with Colin Jost, Michael Che, and Braun Strowman has been far more entertaining than it should. Braun should come out on top, but it it will be interesting to see who debuts in this match and what fun spots we get.

Braun Strowman wins the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Greg: I think this one is pretty clear, Braun is going to win.

Braun Strowman wins the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Retirement Match: Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin

Joel: This goes without saying, I think. It’s Angle’s last match and Corbin beat Mysterio in the main event. There’s no way that the WWE makes Angle go out against someone like Baron Corbin. I can’t see it going any other way.

Kurt Angle def. Baron Corbin.

Austin: This is the most obvious pick of the night in my opinion. There is no way Baron Corbin will defeat Angle in his last match. Corbin stood tall on Raw, there is no way a legend like Kurt Angle puts over Baron Corbin in his last match

Kurt Angle def. Baron Corbin.

Sanjay: I’m still holding out hope that Cena takes Corbin’s spot. It would be a feel good match to have Kurt go out on top, but between all the expected face wins and it being Kurt’s last match, Corbin could use the rub, and will probably pick up the win.

Baron Corbin def. Kurt Angle.

Greg: Kurt Angle in seconds. John Cena comes out and says that he can’t go out like that and that he will face Angle in the Hall of Famer’s last match.

Kurt Angle def. Baron Corbin.

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Shane McMahon vs. The Miz

Joel: There’s no way that they built Miz to be a face to have him lose on the grandest stage of them all. Miz absolutely takes this match with all the build up, especially if his father is in the crowd. I’m more excited to see what comes after this for the Miz, he’ll most likely get a championship run soon.

Miz def. Shane McMahon.

Austin: I am genuinely looking forward to this match, this build has been much better than it should’ve been. Shane’s heel turn was fantastic, and Miz has played a great face. I don’t think Shane will win this, with the way the build has gone, I think Miz has to win here and prove that Shane isn’t the best wrestler in the world like his trophy says. Oh, and because this is false count anywhere, Shane will jump off something, because he’s Shane McMahon.

Miz def. Shane McMahon.

Sanjay: The Miz’s second face run is going far better than his first, and he has cut some of the best promos of his life. I’d normally think he would pick up the easy win, but I think Shane will win via screwery and keep this feud going.

Shane McMahon def. Miz.

Greg: With everything that has happened, I only see Miz winning every time I picture the result of this matchup.

Miz def. Shane McMahon.

Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles

Joel: These two have been going back and forth every week on SmackDown, talking trash to each other. They’ve slowly built up this match with their personal jabs and it’s truly going overlooked with all the other matches on the WrestleMania card. I personally think it will steal the show very early on in the evening, but have Orton taking it at the end of the day with an RKO out of nowhere.

Randy Orton def. AJ Styles.

Austin: This match came out of nowhere, and I was a bit concerned about how good the build would be. It has been really good, Randy and Styles have had some really good back-and-forth and many people are sleeping on this. People forget that Randy is still wrestling for a reason, he is fantastic and AJ is AJ. I think we will get some crazy counter into an RKO and Randy will pick up the Win.

Randy Orton def. AJ Styles.

Sanjay: This feud has seen the most intense promos cut, punctuated by AJ calling Randy’s Wellness Policy violation. We got the Phenomenal Forearm into RKO spot on SmackDown, so these two are likely to have something even more special up their sleeves on Sunday. Neither will hurt from a loss, but Randy should take the first match of what could be a series.

Randy Orton def. AJ Styles.

Greg: For some reason I can only see Orton winning here.

Randy Orton def. AJ Styles.

No-Holds-Barred Match: Batista vs. Triple H

Joel: I love how the story has gone and I feel this will all play down to if Batista is staying with the company after this match. Something tells me Triple H’s wrestle days are numbered. Batista has been playing the perfect villain, so I see him taking this one. Some of the “bad guys” have to win at WrestleMania. Batista will be the first.

Batista def. Triple H.

Austin: This is tough because either guy could win and it would make sense. However, with Triple H putting his career on the line I have a hard time believing he will lose here. I don’t see him losing a retirement match because it’s not Shawn vs Taker, the story has not been built around Triple H putting his career on the line. If Triple H was going to lose this match and retire I think they would’ve built more of a story around it and I don’t think Triple H is ready to hang up the boots just yet. When he does have his last match down the line, it will be a big deal, and this does not feel like a big enough deal to be his last one. Combine that with Batista being the heel in the story I think Triple H will take it.

Triple H def. Batista.

Sanjay: I can’t stop laughing about “GIVE ME WHAT I WANT!” It was nice of Drax the Destroyer to come back to put over his buddy, since Triple H’s career can’t end here.

Triple H def. Batista.

Greg: I gotta go with Triple H, he’s still got a good few years ahead of him.

Triple H def. Batista.

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

Joel: There is no way Reigns loses this, especially with his story, his return, and the fact McIntyre has been attacking him constantly. This is the feel good moment of WrestleMania, when Reigns hits the superman punch and spear before getting the three count.

Roman Reigns def. Drew McIntyre.

Austin: I think this is another one of those matches that is a lock. With Roman being one of the most over wrestlers in the company (never thought I would say that) after beating Leukemia and returning, there is no way Drew will beat Roman here. I think it will be a very strong showing for Drew and he will come so close but Roman will win. This could also set up a potential Universal Championship feud down the line.

Roman Reigns def. Drew McIntyre.

Sanjay: I’m just happy Roman is healthy and back. He doesn’t need the win, but Drew does. Even as screwy as WWE booking is, the show should have enough feel good moments without Roman winning.

Drew McIntyre def. Roman Reigns.

Greg: This one is obvious for me, Roman Reigns takes the win on the grandest stage of them all.

Roman Reigns def. Drew McIntyre.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Revival vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins

Joel: So this match came out of nowhere. The Revival hasn’t been very exciting as champions and have come close to losing it on multiple occasions to Black and Ricochet. So, I think they are losing. I also believe this will be Ryder and Hawkins WrestleMania moment because of this losing streak and how often it’s highlighted. There’s no reason why this match was randomly booked, so I think it will surprise people the most. Who knows, maybe this replaces the United States Championship match.

Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins claim the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships.

Austin: This match came out of absolutely nowhere, and I really want to say Revival will retain. They won’t though, to not fault of the Revival has done nothing with those titles and I think it would be nice to put them on someone fresh. In come Hawkins and Ryder, and I am confident they will pick up these titles. We need these titles on a fresh team, and Hawkins has the built in story of his losing streak. Wrestlemania is largely about moments and Hawkins breaking his streak I think is a pretty nice Mania moment. I don’t think people will expect Hawkins and Ryder to win either, so it will be a nice surprise. All that being said I think Revival will drop these titles.

Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins claim the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships.

Sanjay: Since this match was never really supposed to happen, I’m going with The Revival.

The Revival retain their WWE Raw Tag Team Championships.

Greg: The streak will finally be broken.

Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins claim the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships.

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Boss ‘N Hug Connection vs. Nia Jax & Tamina Snuka vs. Divas of Doom vs. The IIconics

Joel: If you know me, you know how hard I go for Sasha Banks. Even if I know she’s going to lose, I still pick her and that’s no different for WrestleMania. Banks and Bayley are on a mission to make the titles talked about and relevant. I see them putting on a hell of a performance and holding the belts for a while, until a tag team steps up and is able to persuade the WWE Universe.

Sasha Banks and Bayley retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Austin: There is no way Sasha and Bayley aren’t retaining these titles. They have beat Jax & Tamina, Divas of Doom is a temporary thing, and I don’t see IIconics winning. I think the only team that could realistically win the titles are the IIconics and as much as I would love to see it, I don’t think it will happen. WWE are really building this women’s tag division around Sasha and Bayley and I think this is too soon for them to drop them. I think Sasha and Bayley will retain and maybe lose it at SummerSlam.

Sasha Banks and Bayley retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Sanjay: This match has been treated as an afterthought, despite the depth of the women’s division. Look for Bayley and Sasha to retain their titles, and hopefully re-enter the singles title chase once Ronda leaves the division.

Sasha Banks and Bayley retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Greg: There is no doubt that Sasha and Bayley retain on Sunday.

Sasha Banks and Bayley retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

United States Championship Match: Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio

Joel: This is a bummer, with Rey’s ankle injury. I don’t see Joe losing the belt this soon. So I have to go with Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe def. Rey Mysterio.

Austin: If this match does happen, I have to go with Joe.

Samoa Joe def. Rey Mysterio.

Sanjay: One word: Samoa Joe. If this match happens.

Samoa Joe def. Rey Mysterio.

Greg: Although this match is currently in question, if Rey is able to compete, he’ll win the belt. If not, Joe retains.

Rey Mysterio def. Samoa Joe.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: The Uso’s vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. The Bar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev

Joel: I love the Usos, but Black and Ricochet have been killing it lately. They are WWE’s most exciting tag team recently, and because they would be the perfect fit for SmackDown, they will carry the titles into the new era. I think this match is going to be insane and I expect the new comers to become full time Superstars on SmackDown.

Aleister Black & Ricochet capture the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Austin: This match came out of nowhere and was just added on last weeks Smackdown. The Bar isn’t winning, Nakamura and Rusev aren’t winning, so I think this comes down to The Uso’s vs Black and Ricochet. I am going to take a chance on this pick, and I am going with Black and Ricochet. I think Uso’s have done all they can do with these titles and aren’t really doing anything. I think them chasing Black and Ricochet would provide some amazing matches and would give The Uso’s a much needed quality rivalry.

Aleister Black & Ricochet capture the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Sanjay: My favorite superstar, Ricochet and Aleister Black have yet to take a meaningful loss, and I don’t see that happening now. They will end WrestleMania weekend with two title belts, taking the NXT ones home too.

Aleister Black & Ricochet capture the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Greg: I have a feeling the Usos will retain their titles here.

Usos retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Demon Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley

Joel: Balor is my favorite wrestler of the new era. Since he’s going to be Demon Finn, he’s absolutely getting a WrestleMania moment by capturing the belt on the grandest stage of them all. Although I wish it was the Universal Championship, I can’t see him losing to Lashley unless Lio Rush interferes.

Demon Finn Balor def. Bobby Lashley.

Austin: Finn is coming out as The Demon, there is no chance Bobby Lashley will beat The Demon. Finn is undefeated as The Demon on main roster and there is no way his first loss is coming to Bobby Lashley. I think this will be a dominant win for Demon Balor, but either way I would bet the house on Balor winning.

Demon Finn Balor def. Bobby Lashley.

Sanjay: The Demon isn’t about to lose his his first match against Bobby Lashley early in the card. WWE even protected the gimmick against a loss vs Brock.

Demon Finn Balor def. Bobby Lashley.

Greg: There is no way Demon Finn Balor loses. And still here.

Demon Finn Balor def. Bobby Lashley.

Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins

Joel: I would have picked Lesnar, until Ariel Helwani announced a very interesting piece of news. DC vs Brock Lesnar is slated to happen around August. Because of this news, Lesnar is going to need a full camp and not risk any injuries defending the Universal Championship. Rollins will win the belt because Lesnar is off to the UFC for his heavyweight title shot.

Seth Rollins def. Brock Lesnar.

Austin: I really want Seth to beat Brock. This feud has had barely any build except for last weeks episode of Monday Night Raw. I have learned one thing over the past few years and one of those things is never bet against Brock Lesnar. As I said I really want Seth to win here but due to the lack of build for Seth against my desires I think Brock will retain. I do think Seth will beat Brock but they could easily kick it over to either the Saudi show or SummerSlam. They could get more out of this feud and I think they will.

Brock Lesnar def. Seth Rollins.

Sanjay: Of the three major matches, this is the one I can see with the most likely heel victory. Seth could use a win here, but he won’t hurt from a loss. Look for Brock to win and drop the belt to Seth at the next Saudi Arabia event.

Brock Lesnar def. Seth Rollins.

Greg: I think WWE will swerve us with either this match of the WWE Championship match, I’ll say Seth’s winning this one.

Seth Rollins def. Brock Lesnar.

WWE Championship Match: Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston

Joel: I don’t think I need to even do a write up for this one, Kofi is absolutely winning this belt. The WWE Universe wants it and at WrestleMania, what a moment that would be to see.

Kofi Kingston def. Daniel Bryan.

Austin: Come on. With the hype around Kofi and how much spotlight WWE has put on him there is no way Bryan will beat Kofi. Kofi losing would suck the life out of the building and even if it is a short reign I truly think they will put the belt on Kingston. Especially with the story of Kofi wanting this for 11 years and the kind of racial undertones they have to put this belt on Kofi. I think Bryan will get it back and I don’t believe Kofi will have it long, but after 11 years he deserves this championship.

Kofi Kingston def. Daniel Bryan.

Sanjay: Kofi winning this match would be a WrestleMania moment comparable in its own way to Daniel Bryan’s 5 years ago. The fact that this storyline has developed so organically has been impressive. Kofi should win the belt with the New Day taking out Rowan at ringside.

Kofi Kingston def. Daniel Bryan.

Greg: In the shock of the night, Bryan will retain his title and make everyone upset at WrestleMania right before the main event of the night.

Daniel Bryan def. Kofi Kingston.

Raw Women’s Championship & Smackdown Women’s Championship in Winners Takes All Match: Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

Joel: Like I said earlier, some of the bad guys need to win. So Ronda wins here, but that’s not the only reason why. I can see a few things happening. First, there’s no way Ronda Rousey is losing her first Singles Match at WrestleMania. It’s also the Main Event. In real life, Rousey takes this 10/10 times. But this is pro wrestling. And because of her UFC background, there’s no way she loses the belt to either of these two right now – even if she decides to leave. Lynch may be the most over Superstar, so that’s why she doesn’t get it. She doesn’t need this win. Ronda does. The second scenario is the Four Horsewoman of MMA interfere, helping Ronda win. Then this sets up for the Four Horsewoman feud at SummerSlam.

Ronda Rousey retains and becomes a Champ Champ.

Austin: After a lot of twists and turns, some unnecessary, we are finally at Becky vs Charlotte vs Ronda – winner takes all. Becky is easily the most over person in this match and they have built her up so much. I think Becky Lynch will win this, and I think the plan was always for her to win the title here. I think the end of the match depending on if Ronda is staying. If she is staying I think Becky taps out Charlotte and we get Becky vs Ronda at SummerSlam, if Ronda is done after Mania, Becky will tap out Ronda here. But regardless of who she beats to do it, there’s no way Becky loses this match in the main event of WrestleMania. I think they will want a big moment to end the long show, and Becky winning will send the crowd home happy!

Becky Lynch becomes a Champ Champ.

Sanjay: This match has been built to push Becky since the moment Nia broke her nose. It’s damn time the women had the main event, and Charlotte and Ronda have done their job in building the division and this match as well, and deserve their credit. With Ronda likely to take time away from WWE, I would expect Becky to get the first clean win over her, to end the show.

Becky Lynch becomes a Champ Champ.

Greg: It’s got to be The Man finishing WrestleMania on top this year.

Becky Lynch becomes a Champ Champ.
