Your guide to TUW 10: Vega vs. Diaz

Read Time:2 Minute, 37 Second

TUW 10 will kick off Season 3 with a bang, featuring top-level Veteran vs. Newbie matchups.

The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 16 of the best MMA, Boxing, and Pro Wrestling writers around the world in a competition where article views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly when highest article views go head-to-head to determine The Ultimate Writer.

The first card showcases a killer #1 vs. #1 battle between last season’s winner and a not-so-new newbie. It will be two-weeks long and the winners will determine the Season 3 bracket once both weeks conclude. So although things are just getting started, there’s still so many curveballs to come.

Underrated Matchup

Our last pick matchup is definitely the one to watch in this first round. Though it’s #8 vs. #8, the match will feature a returning Cole Henry who has consistent high views on the site despite his hiatus. He takes on The Scrap’s newest addition to the Boxing win, Leif Payne. Payne has proven he can bring creative content to the table that intrigues the every-day reader. So it’ll be interesting how it pans out.

Matchup of the Week

Our matchups featuring the #3 writers on each team is definitely the matchup of the week. We have a feeling Brandon Sibcy vs. Jake Foley is going to be a close one when it comes down to the wire. Brandon is tied for the best TUW record on Season 3. He wins often for a reason… he knows what content people want at the right time.

His opponent Jake is an interesting content producer to watch this season though. He may be ranked high, but we know the Newbie rankings were based on when people accepted their positions on The Scrap. However, let it be known Jake is creative, and really has potential to showcase something different in this competition. But he has to get through one of the best veterans this season.

Underdog to Watch

There are a few underdogs to watch this week, especially it being the kickoff card. First, you should keep an eye on Cole Henry. Although he’s #8, his content intrigues readers and they come back wanting more. He’s making his TUW debut, though he’s a veteran on the site. If he can stay consistent, he may be a problem and could win it all. Same with his opponent, Leif Payne. He may be ranked low, but he’s off to a great start and with the right promotion, he could also be a problem this season.

Our newest writer Ryan Truland came in as a short notice replacement and boy is he already off to a bang. The potential Darkhorse of Season 3, he’s already leading the newbies in views and he’s only been hired for two days as of writing this. Our #7 newbie Doug Murray is also very interesting to watch this competition because he does produce the type of content Scrap readers want. Though he’s ranked low, we feel he’s going to do well this season for his team as long as he remains consistent.
