The Scrap’s 2019 Dark Horse of The Ultimate Writer: Caroline Romero
The Ultimate Writer is a competition created by The Scrap where MMA & Pro Wrestling writers go head to head in a competition of articles views.
Monthly winners move on and get closer to being awarded The Ultimate Writer Championship belt. In our two seasons, we’ve had a few writers billed as the “Dark Horse” of the competition. But when you truly think about the meaning, Caroline Romero is the most deserving of the award.
Not only did Caroline come into the competition with the least amount of followers, she took out some of the competition’s best. She self-promoted her articles like crazy and hustled bringing forth creative content.
Wow! Phenomenal win, @cromero1971!
Don’t forget: We have our wildcard entering the bracket to face @JordanEllisUK in the semi-finals. Will be announced on 12/15. https://t.co/JbCm6o7kOJ

In round 1, Caroline took out the #3 seed Steven Ricciardi II, then she went on and eliminated the rookie writer, #14 seed Evan Mowery. After, she took on the favorite to win it all, #4 UFC Super Fan, and beat him with ease.
Being a new writer at The Scrap and doing what she did with a brand new Twitter account, there’s no way we could overlook her for this award.
Congratulations to Caroline Romero for being named the 2019 Dark Horse of the The Ultimate Writer!
