Alex Polizzi is taking it ‘Eazy’ hiding away, gaming during pandemic

Undefeated fighter Alex “Eazy” Polizzi (6-0 mma) is trying to keep a normal schedule during the pandemic.

“Eazy” admitted the time off has, “stepped up my cardio game because you know you can’t go and punch people, so you kind of just have to run it all out. I’ve been through a couple of pairs of running shoes that I thought were going to last a little longer,” he said.

Polizzi became the LFA light heavyweight champion at LFA 82 in February. To win the title, the 28-year-old beat Jamal Pogues (7-3 MMA) by heel hook in the fourth round at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota. After that fight, the Chosen Few Gym prospect signed with Bellator.

“We got the best deal out of Bellator, so currently I’m signed up for a contract with Bellator. We”ll be fighting for them once this craziness lifts. Hopefully that’s soon, well see”.

When asked about a potential opponent for his Bellator debut, the Wisconsin native said, “I’m not trying to duck anybody or dive anybody. I’ll fight whoever and whenever even if it ends up comes down to a silly idea like Dana White’s Fight Island which 100 percent is a cover for him to start a Mortal Kombat, you know that right? At the end of the day we are all fighters. We are all looking to do the same thing, to get into the ring and beat people up”.

During the pandemic Polizzi said that he’s been finding ways to occupy his free time. “Just like everybody else I’ve been trying to hide away and do a little more gaming. The video game industry has been keeping strong. I’ve picked up a Nintendo Switch and I’ve been playing a pretty good couch co op game called Overcooked,” said Polizzi. “It’s a cooking game on its outskirts, but it’s pretty much about communication between people. It’s a mess, sometimes you have to put out little virtual fires. Things can get a little heated in the virtual kitchen”.

Although Polizzi fights at light heavyweight, he’s apparently a bigger guy. “I’m big and strong and I know when I’m in the cage I look real mean, um, I’m actually just a nerd,” said Polizzi. “I’ve been devoting a lot of time to dungeons and dragons; I play fifth edition. It’s a lot of dice rolling and nerd stuff. So if you catch me after a fight and you start talking about rolling some dice and we’re talking initiative counts and mobility scores, I’ll get into that man”.
