Amanda Bobby Cooper got thrust into the UFC spotlight after her second pro fight. After not being re-signed by the promotion following a split decision loss to Ashley Yoder in November 2018, Cooper has a new outlook on the fight game.
After a vicious first round TKO win over Jamie Milanowski in her first bout since moving on from the UFC at Lights Out Championship 5 in September, “ABC” will fight for her first pro title. Cooper will face Pamela Boveda Aguirre in the main event of Lights Out Championship 8 on for the promotion’s bantamweight title. The event takes place May 2 at the Deltaplex Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.
On Thursday, Cooper joined The Scrap to discuss getting her first shot at a pro title in her career, why she hasn’t fought for Invicta FC yet, her big win in September, her husband Cody Brundage’s recent success, how the fight with Aguirre came together, how she sees it playing out, wanting to return to the UFC — this time with her husband by her side — and much more.
