Ben Askren makes his return at UFC Singapore with much on the line

Read Time:1 Minute, 9 Second

I can’t remember the last time a major UFC debut was this much of a Rollercoaster.

Ben Askren went from being undefeated and having tons of hype, to a controversial win over Robbie Lawler, to getting KO’d in 5 seconds by Jorge Masvidal. Askren will return this Friday in what will be a grappling contest against Demian Maia.

Askren has yet to have an impressive win in the UFC and he desperately needs it against Maia. Askren’s one win in the UFC consisted of him getting dropped on his head and losing that fight until he got a controversial choke.

If you are a “stand and bang” kind of fan, this fight will not be you.

This is also not an easy fight for Askren. He has no worries of being knocked out again, but Maia is one of the best grapplers in UFC history. Of his 27 wins, 13 are by submission. This will be a true battle of two of the best grapplers in the UFC.

While this isn’t the most exciting fight for Askren, it will be a chess match early Friday morning.
