Pro Wrestlers of the Month: Aleister Black & Ricochet are WWE’s most electrifying tag team

Read Time:2 Minute, 44 Second

I had it easy last month, there was no way I could’ve given it to anybody but Kofi. For the month of March, it was impossible to give it to only one superstar.

Aleister Black and Ricochet are a tag team that came out of absolutely nowhere, but I have loved every second their matches. Before we get into what they did as a team this month, let’s talk about how good the two are as a tag team.

These two just started teaming in mid-February and already they have a chemistry that has taken most teams years to accumulate. So often you take two superstars that are really good, they get put together and it doesn’t click. But this has clicked. I don’t know what it is, but their styles compliment each other so well and as personalities they just fit. Now these two weren’t just killing it on NXT, they also pulled double duty.

The whole month of March they were having amazing matches on NXT, and having jaw dropping performances on the main roster. So many NXT call-ups are bungled lately, but from the start Black and Ricochet were booked super strong. In fact they pinned the Raw Tag Team Champions, The Revival, in non-title action. They had an amazing match at WWE Fastlane and will currently get their shot again the Raw before WrestleMania. As if that didn’t justify them being co-wrestlers of the month, they also won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic this past week on NXT.

I tried to look at other individual wrestlers to make Wrestler of the Month, I looked at guys like Matt Riddle, Velveteen Dream, and Johnny Gargano, but I just could not give it to any of them over Black and Ricochet. They have not had a single boring match since they started tagging, not many Tag Teams can say that. I don’t want to trash on The Forgotten Sons, but even their matches with them have been amazing. They are so good in the ring and obviously Ricochet does stuff that human being’s should not be able to do.

On top of that, they are so good at selling their opponents offense, and they are such good story tellers in the ring. These are two of the absolute best wrestlers and they are almost better as a Tag Team which is crazy to think. They are challenging for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Takeover: New York, and I won’t be surprised if they have a Raw Tag Title match at Mania. I’m not sure if they will be on Raw permanently after Mania, but they will be stars on any brand.

I mentioned earlier that many NXT call-ups have gotten lost in the shuffle, but these two clearly will not. Both are absolute stars and I think they are so good that whether they are a team or solo, they will be huge parts of main roster for years to come.

I know this is supposed to be Wrestler of the Month, but I just had to give it to a tag team this time around.
