WWE SummerSlam 2025: Night 2 Preview & Predictions

Read Time:6 Minute, 56 Second

WWE SummerSlam 2025 is shaping up to be “The Biggest Party of the Summer” and this year, it’s truly historic.

For the first time ever, SummerSlam will take place over two nights, and WWE is going all out. With Cardi B hosting the festivities, expect plenty of star power alongside high-stakes title bouts, personal rivalries, and career-defining moments.

From John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, to Naomi defending her World Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY, the card is stacked. Add in Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu, an Intercontinental Title match, the massive 6-Way TLC, and another heated chapter in the Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria feud, and you’ve got a can’t-miss conclusion to the weekend festivities.

Whether you’re here for the titles, the grudges, or the wild surprises, here’s a full breakdown of each match and predictions for Night 2 of WWE SummerSlam 2025:

Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship: John Cena (c) vs. King Cody Rhodes

The stage is set for one of the biggest matches of the summer. At WWE SummerSlam, John Cena will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes in a highly anticipated WrestleMania rematch.

Their first meeting at WrestleMania ended in controversy, with Cena shocking the world by defeating Rhodes and beginning his farewell tour as champion. Since then, the self-proclaimed “Last Real Champion” has successfully defended the title against Randy Orton at WWE Backlash and CM Punk at Night of Champions. He has made it clear that his goal is to retire with the championship and take it with him when he leaves.

Cody Rhodes has other plans. After bouncing back and winning the 2025 King of the Ring Tournament by defeating Orton in the final, “The American Nightmare” earned another shot at the title he once held. Cody was supposed to save wrestling. That has always been the mission.

Still, something feels off. As poetic as Cody’s redemption would be, it almost doesn’t feel right to end Cena’s run just yet. His retirement tour still has so much left to give. But if not Cody, then who?

SummerSlam may be the night Cody reclaims his legacy or the night Cena takes one step closer to retiring on top. Either way, the stakes could not be higher.

Quick Pick Predictions:

  • Joey & Rags: John Cena

Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria

Becky Lynch is set to defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria in a high-stakes rematch.

Valkyria was the first Superstar to hold the new title. She and Bayley had earned a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania. However, Bayley was taken out before the match. It was later revealed that Lynch was responsible for the attack.

Lynch stepped in as Valkyria’s partner, and the two captured the tag titles. However, they lost them the following night, and Lynch immediately turned on Valkyria.

At Money in the Bank, Lynch used a handful of tights to steal the Intercontinental Championship from her former partner. She then successfully defended it against both Bayley and Valkyria in a Triple Threat Match at WWE Evolution.

Valkyria fought her way back into title contention by beating Bayley in a number one contender’s match. On the July 21 episode of Raw, she and Lynch agreed to a No Disqualification Match. If Valkyria loses, she will no longer be allowed to challenge for the title again.

The rivalry has delivered match after match. But with Lynch gaining momentum and raising the title’s prestige, she may be too strong to dethrone right now.

Quick Pick Predictions:

  • Joey & Rags: Becky Lynch

Steel Cage Match for the United States Championship: Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu

At SummerSlam, Solo Sikoa will defend the United States Championship against Jacob Fatu in a Steel Cage Match.

Tensions between the two have reached a boiling point in recent weeks. In a shocking twist, Fatu was arrested after The MFTs orchestrated a staged car crash to make it appear as if he was responsible. The chaos only added fuel to their feud.

With Sikoa eager to lock Fatu inside a cage, WWE officials made it official. The two will go head-to-head in a brutal Steel Cage Match at the biggest event of the summer.

The outcome could shift the entire Bloodline storyline. Sikoa’s squad is nearly complete, but Fatu may still have a few surprises left. Unless backup arrives, expect Solo to walk out with the title.

Quick Pick Predictions:

  • Joey & Rags: Solo Sikoa

Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. AJ Styles

The time has finally come for AJ Styles. Dominik Mysterio can no longer dodge his challenger, as the two are set to clash for the Intercontinental Championship.

Originally scheduled for Night of Champions, the match was delayed after Mysterio’s injury. Ever since, he’s used a convenient doctor’s note to avoid in-ring action and contact, much to Styles’ frustration. The Phenomenal One has been relentless in pursuit, and now that Mysterio is cleared, the bout is officially back on.

Dominik’s last match was in early June, when he successfully defended his title against Octagon Jr. at Money in the Bank. Meanwhile, Styles has picked up wins over JD McDonagh, Finn Bálor, and even Mysterio this year. If anyone has The Judgment Day’s number, it’s him.

The feud feels far from over, but this will be their first real showdown. With AJ nearing retirement and teasing a return to TNA, a win would be fitting. Still, with Judgment Day holding all the gold, Dominik retaining seems more likely.

Quick Pick Predictions:

  • Joey: Dominik Mysterio
  • Rags: AJ Styles

6-Way TLC for the World Tag Team Championships: The Wyatt Sicks (c) vs. Motor City Machine Guns vs. #DIY vs. Andrade & Rey Fenix vs. Fraxiom vs. Street Profits

Twenty-five years after the first-ever TLC Match at SummerSlam 2000, the iconic Tables, Ladders, and Chairs bout returns to the PLE. This time, the largest field ever assembled will compete for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

Champions The Wyatt Sicks will defend their titles with the gold suspended high above the ring. After months of all-out war between the blue brand’s top tag teams, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis had no choice but to bring back the TLC Match. The announcement followed The Wyatt Sicks’ recent title defense against Andrade & Fenix, which ended in chaos when the other four teams interfered.

This marks the first TLC Match on a Premium Live Event since TLC 2020. It is also the first time the stipulation has appeared at SummerSlam since 2009.

Three of the six teams have prior TLC experience, having clashed in a triple threat on the April 25 episode of SmackDown. The Street Profits retained against #DIY and Motor City Machine Guns in a match that raised the bar for what to expect.

Now, with six teams and 12 Superstars ready to destroy each other for gold and glory, the question remains… Who will climb the ladder and leave as WWE Tag Team Champions?

Quick Pick Predictions:

  • Joey: #DIY
  • Rags: Fraxiom

Triple Threat for the Women’s World Championship: Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY

At SummerSlam, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY will challenge the newly crowned Women’s World Champion Naomi in a high-stakes Triple Threat Match.

Naomi shocked the world during the main event of the historic WWE Evolution PLE by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract in the middle of an intense battle between Ripley and SKY. She turned the match into an impromptu Triple Threat and left as champion.

On Raw, Ripley and SKY interrupted Naomi’s celebration, each claiming the title should be theirs. With tensions rising, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce made it official. Naomi will defend her title against both challengers at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

It’s unlikely WWE will take the title from Naomi so soon after her cash-in. But if she gets involved in Jade’s match or with Bianca and Cardi B backstage, anything could happen.

Quick Pick Predictions:

  • Joey & Rags: Naomi
