Will Starks on LFA 122 matchup, signing with Paradigm Sports

Lightweight prospect Will Starks looks to extend his winning streak to five-straight at LFA 122 and will be doing so under new management. The 28-year-old recently signed on with Paradigm Sports, the same group that represents names like Conor McGregor and Cris Cyborg.
“I had a few people reach out to me via my Instagram DM’s” Starks told The Scrap. “Agent Karl Reed was one of those. I had some good offers like Iridium Sports and Ruby (Sports) but really Paradigm was the obvious choice. A lot of their core values and their vision for the future of the sport, ran parallel to mine. So that that’s pretty much it. Karl DM’ed me and we had a conversation and now here we are trying to launch my MMA career and then make a serious run.”
Sparks (7-2) has won six of his last seven fights and is set to square off against Brazil’s Gláucio Eliziário on Jan. 21. The “Soldier of Christ” sees similarities between Eliziário and his last opponent Milko Tucto.
“I think it’s gonna be a good matchup, as far as allowing me to showcase some of my, my new skills,” Sparks explained. “I think I’m gonna see some similarities between him and my last opponent, in that they’re aggressive for moving, striking offensive fighters. So I think this will make for an entertaining fight, maybe one of my most more entertaining ones, because I’ll have somebody pressing the action and forcing the best out of me.”
Starks knows with a victory, he’s on the cusp of a UFC contract but the Missouri native is also open to competing on Dana White’s Contenders Series for the upcoming season.
“Obviously, my goal for this year is to get signed by the UFC. We’re predicting quarter three of this year. But it’s not without a question that maybe a Contender Series debut will happen first. Just so I can prove that I’m ready for that step in front of Dana White before he signs me on. But I do have a three to five contract deal with LFA right now.”
LFA 122 takes place January 21st at The Factory at the District in St. Louis, Missouri. Flyweight champion Charles Johnson battles Carlos Mota in the main event.
