Top of the Class: Paul Capaldo is a viral sensation with superstar potential
Paul Capaldo is a talented, young fighter that has looked unbeatable in the CFFC. He is coming off a huge spinning wheel kick KO at CFFC 95, where the hype train officially began for those new to hearing his name.
His KO went viral, putting on display a level of skill and technique that is rare at the regional level. While the finish was flashy, it was also executed to perfection. He is currently undefeated, boast three finishes, and is on an 11-fight win streak that stems from his amateur career.
There should be no thinking involved. This is a no-brainer signing at bantamweight that has potential to become a future world champion.
Why was Paul Capaldo selected for our Top of the Class List?
Paul Capaldo is well-rounded, and comfortable anywhere the fight goes. At just 24 years old, the future is bright… “Paulie C” has all the tools in his arsenal to do big things in the big leagues. He has been a pro since 2018, which goes to show that he is experienced for his age. He is also undefeated as a pro (6-0) and amateur in MMA, with a total of 11 fights on his resume.
His viral KO came early in the third round of the fight, showcasing the power he carries into the later rounds. He also has the cardio to hang. Capaldo has shown he can go the distance and that he has a solid skillset. He is battle-tested and seems to pass the test every time. Sean Shelby recognized his talents giving Paul his much deserved Contender Series opportunity last season. However, COVID put a halt to that, leading him back to the regional scene.
Capaldo trains out of Nick Catone MMA & Fitness, which is a gym on the rise. They have a number of prospects early in their career and amateur fighters that will someday be household names. As for Paul, he is one of two bright CFFC prospects on our Top of the Class List this year.
Congratulations to Paul Capaldo on being selected for our inaugural Top of the Class List!
