Renato Valente previews UFC 307: Pereira vs. Rountree Jr.
We are back at it with another Main Event Preview from our ongoing monthly series. This time, we shift our focus to the main event of UFC 307 on October 5th. The card goes down live from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ahead of the big night, Renato Valente a pro-MMA fighter, gym owner, and training partner of Alex Pereira, joins us to break down his friend’s upcoming fight. Valente trains alongside Alex Pereira and his mentor Glover Texeira, thus providing us with some valuable insight about the champion that you won’t get anywhere else. We discuss how Pereira is behind the scenes, the matchup against Rountree, and so much more.
Since entering the light heavyweight division, Pereira has brought stability and prestige to a weight class. A weight class that really lost credibility after the departure of Jon Jones. Alex now heads into his third title defense and looks to bring back stability to the division that saw a revolving door of new champions. Pereira now faces a new threat, as we see Khalil Rountree Jr. emerge as his next contender. Based on everything we’ve heard from Rountree and Pereira, this fight promises to be a standup battle from start to finish. Who will walk out as light hyeavyweight champion at UFC 307? And still? Or and new?
