7 Must-Watch Videos from The Scrap’s YouTube Channel

Read Time:6 Minute, 31 Second

In 2025, The Scrap’s YouTube channel evolved significantly. We mixed up our content and had one of our biggest and best years yet. To celebrate The Scrap’s 7-year anniversary, we went through our large library to select seven videos we felt our readers should watch, if they haven’t already.

This one was tough because we’ve had so many great interviews, like the one with Joe Pyfer ahead of his documentary. We also revived one of our shows, Scrapchat, this year and dove into WWE LFG. We even have videos comparing Ilia Topuria and Conor McGregor’s rise, and highlighting why Jiří Procházka thought Alex Pereira was using dark magic.

From breaking down the biggest beefs in MMA to uncovering forgotten moments in combat sports, this list highlights legendary rivalries and deep dives into the complexities of MMA judging.

Some of these videos were milestones for the channel. Others signal the direction we want to take in 2026. But no matter what type of fan you are, MMA, pro wrestling, or both, these are seven videos you need to watch to see why The Scrap’s YouTube channel has become must-follow:

MMA Beefs

We debuted a new segment on New Year’s Eve dedicated to highlighting some of the biggest beefs in MMA. We kicked things off with Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya ahead of UFC 305. And yes, we went all the way back to the very beginning.

After extensive research, and digging up tons of photos and clips, we put together the only complete timeline between two of the biggest names at middleweight. The rivalry was so heated that we even caught up with Adesanya’s coach, who gave us his take on everything.

If you’re into beefs and all the messy backstory that comes with them, this is the video for you. We definitely plan to keep this series going. So, if this one hits, let us know which rivalry you want us to break down next in the comments!

We Take The MMA Judging Quiz

MMA judging will always spark hot takes until someone changes the system. But does it really need to change — or do people just not understand it? We put ourselves to the test by going through MMA Fighting’s “How to Judge an MMA Fight” article and taking their three-part quiz.

If you’re curious, you should watch, especially if you don’t understand the system. This is one of the most important videos we’ve made for hardcore MMA fans.

We go through every clip, discuss every question, and walk away realizing just how hard it actually is to judge a fight. Not only will you learn more about MMA judging, you’ll also see how subjective and challenging it can be once you get through all of the Bellator clips. Try it yourself!

Remember When…

This is one of my personal favorite segments because it features random moments in combat sports that people moved on from and may have completely forgotten.

They can be big moments you remember, or ones you’ve never seen before because we caught them when they happened and I later rediscovered them while scrolling through my phone and decided to make a video on it. Like this one:

We already have several videos in the segment. But, one of my favorites was finding the clip of Islam Makhachev training gymnastics with an Olympian.

This was filmed after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where Nikita Nagornyy won a gold medal and two bronzes. It really showed me just how athletic Islam really is. Dude is a freak athlete, even if he doesn’t look like one at first glance.

Our Oban Elliott Interview

We have so many interviews on our channel — it’s one of the pillars the YouTube was originally built on. But we decided to shy away from them over time because the space became so saturated and repetitive.

We’ve interviewed plenty of big names for The Scrap, but my favorite interview of all time is the one we did ahead Oban Elliott’s UFC debut against Val Woodburn.

Oban is a character, but the dude gives the best interviews and there is no close second. This interview not only made me a fan of his, it perfectly blended what The Scrap is all about, pro wrestling and MMA.

I ended up learning so much about Oban, including that he is a WWE fan, and the guy can cut a mean promo. Even though his debut happened at the beginning of 2024, the interview is still a must-see. If you don’t love this guy by the end and want to see him win, you’re miserable!

Deep Dive Videos

I needed to feature this video because not only is it important, it also signals a new direction our YouTube channel will explore in 2026.

These are the videos that really started to build our following, because very few creators take the time to research and show receipts, most just want to be first. In this video, we looked into Khabib Nurmagomedov’s assets being seized in a tax evasion controversy. When I started to dig deeper, things just weren’t adding up.

This all started when I first covered Khabib’s gym being raided, which ended up becoming our channel’s most viewed video. I haven’t done many of these since. However, I’ve been itching to tackle major topics and maybe even turn it into a full series.

Lately, I’ve been enjoying daily uploads from creators who dive deep into well-researched series. It makes me want to bring that approach to our channel, explore a new avenue, and tell some of the most important stories in MMA. The good and the bad.

Announcement coming soon! Make sure you’re following The Scrap on YouTube.

We Watched The Dustin Poirier Documentary

While we watched the Fightville documentary ahead of UFC 302, knowing retirement was near, it was important for us to feature this video for a few reasons.

I still can’t believe how different Dustin Poirier is today. He actually retired this year at UFC 318. I also believe Fightville 2 is in production, because when I covered his final fight camp for our IG Fight Camp series, the original producer was filming him during camp.

This video highlights key moments, and if you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a must-watch. You would barely recognize Dustin today, because he’s a completely different man.

Long-Term Storytelling

This video was important for me to share because it was the one that finally allowed us to get monetized on YouTube. I also made it during WrestleMania 41 weekend, an event I was supposed to attend and had tickets for. However, I couldn’t go at the last minute.

It all worked out in the end, but if you look at the comments, so many people doubted me and what I was seeing. WWE planted the seeds for this match from the very beginning.

I’m also including it on this list because it looks like it’s about to happen. Whether it’s at WrestleMania 42 or another big WWE PLE, it’s happening now that Jade Cargill is a full-blown heel.

Bianca Belair is the only babyface left from The Big 3. Both of her allies turned, so will she join them or go against Jade when she returns from injury? Either way, this match is going to have all the feels, especially considering just how good the Naomi and Jade feud was.
