Card Preview & Predictions for NXT Deadline 2025

NXT Deadline is shaping up to be a must-watch event. Below, we break down each matchup, provide our predictions, and highlight the key storylines ahead of the big night:

NXT Championship: Ricky Saints (c) vs. Oba Femi

Joey: This match is kicking off the card, which is an interesting choice. It makes you wonder why and where they are going with this, especially considering the NXT Anonymous video featuring Ricky Saints and Je’Von Evans. It was shown for a reason.

Despite the intrigue, Ricky Saints needs to retain. Oba Femi does not need another title run, given he already ran through the division when he was champion and it did not lead to much.

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Myles Borne vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Leon Slater vs. Dion Lennox vs. Joe Hendry

Joey: These matches are so hard to pick because they are extremely unpredictable. You could make a case for anyone here, but it really comes down to who needs it most. Shawn Michaels needs to choose wisely because he has the opportunity to catapult someone into the main event scene.

Since he is now an official member of the WWE roster, Joe Hendry could really use this. The storyline with Thea Hail is fun, but he needs a spot in the main event scene. If not Joe, it will likely be Je’Von Evans, though I’m not sure he necessarily needs it given the year he had.

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Lola Vice vs. Sol Ruca vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Kendal Grey

Joey: Let’s continue the trend. We have to look at the current storylines and figure out who needs it the most. Jordynne Grace needs a reason to fight for the title again and finally win it. This has to be her moment.

Kelani Jordan does not need it. Lola Vice could use it, but she has been making her mark in AAA. Kendal Grey would be a random choice. Zaria will likely cost Sol Ruca the opportunity and set up a feud between them. By process of elimination, and given that John Cena announced the participants, it has to be Jordynne.

Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley

Joey: This is the best storyline on NXT right now. Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley have built something incredible since Paxley joined The Culling. Now Paxley is helping develop the next star, and it is working perfectly. Izzi looks like a bona fide star ready to break out in 2026. She has the “it” factor and has smoothly stepped into the lead role for The Culling.

The Culling has never looked better, and Izzi is everything she believes she is. Tatum is the perfect partner in this story, and her character work is second to none. The promo on the NXT go-home show set the stage perfectly for the war bound to happen at Deadline. Izzi needs the win more, so I am going with her here.

North American Championship: Ethan Page (c) vs. Mr. Iguana

Joey: While this matchup came together somewhat randomly, it makes a lot of sense given Ethan Page’s current run in AAA with Chelsea Green. Mr. Iguana is so loved by the WWE Universe, so it’s always great to see him on a big platform.

At some point, he needs a big win, but I don’t think this is the place to do it. Ethan is one of those characters who is ready for the main roster, so if that’s the reason he loses, I’m fine with it. All signs, however, point to the Greatest North American retaining.
