Gone too soon: Remembering Hana Kimura

Hana Kimura was one of the biggest up-and-coming stars of the next generation of pro-wrestling. Without a doubt, the future was bright for Kimura, she was being groomed to become the ace of Stardom.

On May 23, 2020, it was reported that Kimura had passed away. She was only 22. Kimura was dealing with depression after being heavily cyberbullied because of an incident on the reality show Terrace House.

The death of Kimura is so tragic. She was a talent you see only once in a generation, but most importantly, she was a good person. Kimura was a kind  person that did not deserve what happened to her.

Kimura was born on September 3, 1997, and was the daughter of legendary Joshi wrestler Kyoko Kimura.

On January 4, 2020, Kimura and Arisa Hoshiki, made history for becoming the first two women to wrestle in the Tokyo Dome for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 14.

Kimura’s death should be a reminder to all of us of the impact our words have on people. Please be kind to one another so we can prevent this type of circumstance to ever happen again. The world is a darker place without such a good person in it as she was.
