Read Time:2 Minute, 57 Second

Legacy Fighting Alliance heads to the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday, March 6, for LFA 203. The event is headlined by light heavyweight champion Uran Satybaldiev, who defends his title against Brazilian finisher Leon Soares.

You can stream LFA 203, live on UFC Fight Pass, starting at 11PM ET.

LFA Light Heavyweight Championship

Uran Satybaldiev (C) vs. Leon Soares

Satybaldiev (7-1), 29, is a fighter to keep an eye on. He holds an impressive record and an 86% finishing rate as a professional. The Kyrgyzstan fighter became interim champion in his last fight against Brazilian submission artist Bruno Assis, surviving early grappling threats before dominating in the championship rounds. Satybaldiev successfully sprawled on a labored takedown from Assis and transitioned to the back of the Brazilian. Once in a dominant position, he started delivering hard ground-and-pound on Assism, leading the referee to call a stop to the action.

Soares, 31, also holds an impressive record as a professional. The Brazilian’s finishing rate is 78%, just slightly below the champions. He debuts his LFA in this coveted main event spot against the champion. The striker had his start as a professional back in 2018. He went on to quickly rack up an impressive record of 6-0 in just over two years.

Soares (9-2), 31, makes his LFA debut in this title bout. The Brazilian striker boasts a 78% finishing rate and began his career with a 6-0 run before facing setbacks against tougher competition. Despite the great start, Soares stepped up in competition and suffered back-to-back stoppage losses. Since those two straight losses, Soares has gone 3-0, with two finishes. His last appearance featured a third-round TKO over Hugo Leonardo in April 2024.

Prediction: Uran Satybaldiev via 2nd-Round KO/TKO

Stav Koren vs. Chase Whitmer

The co-main event for LFA 203 features another eye-catching prospect. The undefeated Israeli-Georgian Bantamweight Stav Koren (6-0) takes on the hard-hitting American, Chase Whitmer (3-1).

Koren, 24, has clear UFC aspirations and may be one highlight reel away from receiving the golden call-up. He possesses a versatile game inside the cage and has only improved his performances as the competition has hardened. Koren debuted for the promotion at LFA 178 in March 2024. He scored a viral first-round knockout over Hussain Bakhsh Safari. Koren followed up this statement-making debut by securing a first-round rear naked choke over Peter Lucitt at LFA 196.

Whitmer, 32, is still extremely raw as a prospect. He successfully made his professional debut back in June 2022, where he scored a first-round TKO over Johnny Robles. Whitmer would take his talents over to Uriah Faber’s A1 Combat. He only had one fight under the promotion, and it saw Whitmer lose a unanimous decision. Whitmer struggled to advance his career, suffering three-straight canceled bouts from 2023 to 2024. He finally made his promotional debut at LFA 178 come March 2024, defeating James Guidry via second-round TKO. Whitmer’s most recent octagon appearance came in a second-round TKO over Aiden Ingram at LFA 190.

Prediction: Stav Koren via Unanimous Decision
