TUW 31 Results: Vega vs. Shuhaiber

The third round of The Ultimate Writer Season 6 has officially ended… TUW 31 featured important first-round bracket matchups. The winners of this round will be moving on in the competition. Some creators have been officially eliminated, while others have ended up in the Loser Bracket for the first time.
If you don’t already know, The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 12 of the best combat sports content creators around the world in a competition where views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly and for this third round, each contestant’s highest viewed piece of content went head-to-head to determine the week’s winner.
The Scrap staff participating in TUW Season 6 will be competing for the grand prize of $50.

Katie Vega (42 views) def. Mishal Shuhaiber (22 views) via Unanimous Decision
In the season’s first rematch, Katie Vega was able to get the job done. Despite their first encounter advantages playing a factor, this go around, Katie solidified her place as one of TUW’s best. Mishal Shuhaiber’s two losses came at the hands of Vega, and he his now eliminated from the competition. He is still one of the best newbies to have debuted on The Ultimate Writer though. We’re looking forward to the pieces he’ll continue to publish on The Scrap…
Anik Subramanian (2,894 views) def. Juan Reneo (4 views) via first-round TKO
One thing about Anik Subramanian is he’s going to get better and better each round. He proved that he is a contender to win it all this year, consistently adapting to the competition’s trends. Something a newbie almost never does. Anik officially moves on the semi-finals after destroying and eliminating Juan Reneo from the bracket.
Kyle Dimond (101 views) def. Utkarsh Tiwari (46 views) via second-round Submission
The Devil’s Advocate officially moves on to the next round after another awesome episode of his new YouTube series. Kyle Dimond gets to go on in the competition, while one of our favorites is unfortunately eliminated. Utkarsh Tiwari really did put one some of the most creative pieces we’ve seen on The Scrap in some time. We’re excited to read more of what he will bring to the table now that he doesn’t have to worry about the competition moving forward.
Jake Noecker (92 views) def. Evan Mazotti (18 views) via first-round TKO
Though we thought it would be a closer matchup in numbers, Jake Noecker takes the win and hands Evan Mazotti his first TUW loss. This was the only matchup that was Winner vs. Winner from the previous round, so that means no one is eliminated. Instead, Jake will go on to the semi-finals and Evan Mazotti will head to the Loser Bracket. Since he’s alone in there at the moment, he will have a Bye for the next round.
