Will Ronda Rousey Join AEW Full-Time?
2026 is shaping up to be the year AEW doubles down on its women’s division.
The company has made several high-profile signings and even introduced the Women’s Tag Team Titles, signaling a serious investment in its female talent.
Rousey’s Unexpected Debut at AEW Revolution
At AEW Revolution, Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance, confronting Toni Storm. The moment generated significant discussion about Rousey’s potential future in AEW. Reactions were mixed; some fans were intrigued by the prospect of seeing her in AEW, while others were skeptical.
Rousey’s previous stint in WWE wasn’t flawless. She started strong, but WWE often exposes weaknesses while highlighting strengths.
Despite her background as a pro-wrestling fan, Rousey sometimes struggled with the nuances of in-ring storytelling, leading to matches that failed to captivate audiences. AEW fans, known for being discerning, may not greet her with the same enthusiasm WWE fans initially had.
It’s worth noting that, as of now, Rousey is not signed to AEW. Her appearance appears to have been a cameo in support of her real-life friend Marina Shafir. There are no confirmed plans for her future in AEW, but her attack on Storm created enough buzz to make a potential return plausible. With Tony Khan at the helm, it wouldn’t be shocking if Rousey eventually had a match or two.
Only time will tell if we’ll see more of Ronda Rousey in AEW.
