Will we see the return of Vince McMahon as WWE’s Booker?

Read Time:2 Minute, 22 Second

After almost being away for seven months, Vince McMahon has returned to WWE.

Though Paul Levesque is the current booker, the speculation of his return to creative has already begun. Levesque may be the head of creative at the moment, but with Stephanie McMahon leaving WWE, is it only a matter of time until Vince returns as booker of WWE? There are two possible scenarios that tell us when Vince McMahon will return as booker of WWE, and both scenarios involve WrestleMania as the catalyst for everything…

Before The Royal Rumble:

In terms of timing, Vince would have time to book the Road to WrestleMania and WrestleMania itself as he sees fit, setting up all creative plans he has in motion. Ever since Vince returned, he has worked fast to establish himself back in WWE. At this rate, he could be back in creative as booker by the end of the week, or before the Rumble takes place at the end of January. The way Vince is moving and reorganizing things make most experts believe it’s just a matter of time, especially with reports indicating that he and Levesque are already discussing creative ideas.

WrestleMania has always been Vince McMahon’s third child, and arguably his favorite. He isn’t going to let it be booked by anyone but him, especially with his ego in the way. It all seems like deja vu; Vince is clearly setting up all pieces to make his return as the booker of WWE, making a grandiose return on TV.

As of this writing, this feels like the most likely scenario for Vince’s return. However, other factors could postpone his eventual return as booker of the main roster.

After WrestleMania:

With WWE being up for sale, Vince McMahon is going to be very busy, and that could postpone Vince’s return as booker of the main roster all the way to WrestleMania, and even after. This is the scenario Paul Levesque is hoping the most for, since this would allow him to book all of his ideas for WrestleMania, and maybe even go beyond SummerSlam if he is lucky. But this is a very unlikely scenario, as of this moment. Even if Levesque keeps saying there won’t be changes…

As mentioned before, Vince has been working fast since his return and any possible sale negotiations could be delegated to Nick Khan, opening McMahon’s time to return as booker of creative and replace Levesque. The return of Vince McMahon as booker of WWE is just a matter of time. It will also be interesting to see who will be the person or group that purchases the organization.

One thing is for sure, Vince is just waiting for the right time to replace Levesque and return to his position as booker of WWE.
