Your guide to TUW 5: Ellis vs. Ferrari
The Ultimate Writer: Season 2 is official underway.
TUW is a competition that features 15 of the best MMA and Pro Wrestling writers around the world in a competition of article views.
Winners this season are determined monthly when highest article views go head-to-head to determine The Ultimate Writer. The first round of the new season began September 1st and has already gone through so many changes and opponent switches. Our card looks very different, now seeing Jordan Ellis headline his second card against a new comer in Dario Ferrari.
The first round showcases important matchups that could be close to call and the results will set the tone for the rest of the competition.
Underrated Matchup
UFC Super Fan vs. Evan Mowery is a matchup to keep a close eye on. Both men kicked off the competition with the first and second articles of Season 2. Although UFC Super Fan has a bigger platform and a loyal following, Evan has more personal relationships with his followers that could come in handy in this first round.
Because they are new to TUW, it will be interesting to see what they both bring to the table.
Matchup of the Month
Steven Ricciardi vs. Caroline Romero is going to be insane. Ricciardi was originally supposed to take on an easier opponent, however, they had to pull out for personal reasons. Romero is now filling in and it could be a problem for Ricciardi, who is also new to the competition. Ricciardi has the highest amount of followers this season.
If Romero wins this round, she could easily take over the “Darkhorse of TUW” title from Jordan Ellis and potentially make it very far. But it’s going to be tough because Ricciardi isn’t new to the MMA writing game.
Underdog to Watch
For the first time ever, we have 2 underdogs to watch, especially in round 1 of Season 2. Both Juan Reneo and Caroline Romero have everything it takes to pull off the upset. Do NOT underestimate them.
Representing Spain, Renau has found his avenue and following that could help him out in this competition.
Canada’s Caroline Romero is also one to watch because the majority of her content is interviews and she pumps out articles like a machine.
