Khamzat Chimaev & Belal Muhammad verbally agree to fight in Abu Dhabi on October 22nd
Rising contender Khamzat Chimaev and Belal Muhammad have verbally agreed to meet at UFC’s Abu Dhabi event. The event is set to take place on October 22nd.
Although many may not have envisioned Muhammad being the next man to take on the Chechen, the 33-year-old has made his name heard in the welterweight division. Muhammad has been climbing the UFC ranking since 2019 following his loss to Geoff Neal, which set him up for the seven-fight win streak he rides today.
Muhammad is one of many waiting in the wings to gain the opportunity to dethrone Kamaru Usman. With that being said, a convincing win over Chimaev would certainly put him within touching distance.
Both men verbally agreed to fight in Abu Dhabi in their most recent Twitter interaction.

UFC 281 will take place on U.A.E. soil in Abu Dhabi on the 22nd of October. As it stands, no fights have been announced. However, the rumoured main event is a lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev, and now a possible co-main featuring Chimaev and Muhammad.
To Muhammad’s credit, he has called for a fight with Chimaev several times, while others wouldn’t dare on calling out the undefeated Russian.
What do you make of the matchup? Do you think we will see Khamzat Chimaev take on Belal Muhammad in Abu Dhabi?
