Impa Kasanganay will show his best version against Johnny Eblen
The PFL 2023 Light Heavyweight Champion Impa Kasanganay caught up with Mike Owens to talk about his upcoming Super Fight against Johnny Eblen. The two will be fighting on the first-ever PFL vs. Bellator Champions card on February 24th. It’ll be the PFL Light Heavyweight Champion taking on the Bellator Middleweight Champion in beautiful Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The guys also talk about…
- The 2023 Light Heavyweight Season
- Impa’s Trials & Tribulations
- His Actual Weight Class
- The Viral Joaquin Buckley KO
- PFL’s Tournament Format
- Becoming a Two-Promotion Champion
Impa reminisces on the last year since winning the $1 Million and Light Heavyweight Title. Not only has his life change tremendously… He looks back on being released from the UFC, and then going from Challenger Series Winner to PFL Champion in the same year. To put that into perspective, that’s five fights in a calendar year where most fighters fight three times at most, if they are lucky.
Maybe that should be PFL’s way to market themselves differently outside of the obvious. The company should boast about the gruesome tournament structure, the quick turnaround, and how their fighters are more active than any fighters in premier organizations right now. Most stars like Kayla Harrison, OAM, and Anthony Pettis have come forth and spoken about how difficult the tournament format is. But Impa Kasanganay shared a different perspective. He has enjoyed staying active and would welcome the opportunity to do it again in 2024.
