From Viral KO Loss to Millionaire: Impa Kasanganay’s Revival
Few fighters lay claim to career resurgence as touching as Impa Kasanganay’s revival. In 2020, he was on the receiving end of one of the most viral UFC knockouts. I don’t think anyone would have anticipated Impa would go on to sweep the 2023 PFL light heavyweight season and win the $1 million dollars…
Kasanganay was in the driver seat for all five rounds, and while some fans may not have loved the performance from either athlete, the win was clear. Impa was in the driver seat the whole time. Josh Silveira’s history is repeated as he comes up short in the 2023 PFL Championship for the second year in a row.

Heartbreaking for the son of MMA legend Conan Silveira, who clearly possesses talent and serious skills. Great experience for the former LFA middleweight champion though. As he leaves Washington, D.C. disappointed, I hope he is proud of his work this season. 3-0 with three first round stoppages heading into the championships, Silveira just could not find his groove against Kasanganay. Completing the cinderella story was certainly the cerry on top for Impa Kasanganay’s career revival.
With the Bellator acquisition, there are a ton of opportunities for Impa Kasanganay, including a bout with Bellator’s Vadim Nemkov. Who do you want to see him fight next?
