Card Preview & Predictions for Wrestlepalooza

Wrestlepalooza happening in 2025 was a surprise. But, there is no doubt this is a must-watch event. Below, we break down the announced matches, key storylines, and give our predictions:

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

The renewed rivalry is set to kick off Wrestlepalooza in blockbuster fashion.

There is plenty of history between these two future WWE Hall of Famers. Lesnar currently holds a 4-2 record against Cena in singles action, with their last one-on-one clash taking place at Night of Champions 2014, where Cena walked away with the victory by disqualification.

This one truly could go either way. Lesnar is always dangerous. However, derailing Cena’s retirement tour by having him fall to The Beast does not make much sense. John needs this win to cap his legendary run on the right note. The looming question is how Ron Cena will factor into the story, and whether his involvement could tilt the balance when all is said and done.

As Wrestlepalooza approaches, all eyes will be on Cena and Lesnar one last time. Will Cena conquer The Beast before hanging up his boots for good?

Predictions:

  • Joey: John Cena

Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch vs. CM Punk & AJ Lee

At Wrestlepalooza, CM Punk and AJ Lee will join forces against World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch in a highly personal tag team match.

The rivalry between Punk and Rollins escalated when The Visionary cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on his adversary at SummerSlam. The animosity grew at WWE Clash in Paris during a Fatal 4-Way Match for the World Heavyweight Title. Rollins retained after Becky Lynch attacked Punk with a low blow, costing him the match.

When Punk later went looking for Rollins on Raw, he instead came face-to-face with Lynch. Knowing that Punk would never strike a woman, The Man humiliated The Voice of the Voiceless with a series of slaps in the middle of the ring.

In response, Punk’s wife AJ Lee made a shocking return to WWE after more than 10 years away. She unleashed a vicious attack on Big Time Becks and stole her championship on SmackDown. Days later on Raw, Lee made it official by issuing a challenge for a Mixed Tag Team Match, pairing herself and Punk against Rollins and Lynch.

AJ Lee’s return is such a massive moment that it is hard to imagine her and Punk losing in their first outing back together. It would be genuinely surprising if Rollins and Lynch pulled off the win. This should be a fun one and feels like the perfect setup for a future AJ vs. Becky singles showdown.

Predictions:

  • Joey: CM Punk & AJ Lee

Undisputed WWE Champion: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

At Wrestlepalooza, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will be out for payback when he goes to war with the brutal Drew McIntyre.

This one feels like an obvious win for Cody. As the face of WWE’s new era, it is unlikely his championship reign ends here. Still, Drew McIntyre is far more than just another feud to notch in someone’s title run.

He has the power, presence, and credibility to make every match feel like a true main event, and this showdown should be no different. The match will be hard-hitting, emotional, and another reminder that while Cody will almost certainly retain, Drew deserves more than the role of stepping stone.

Predictions:

  • Joey: Cody Rhodes

Vacant Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer

At Wrestlepalooza, IYO SKY will collide with Stephanie Vaquer to crown the new Women’s World Champion.

The title picture shifted dramatically when Naomi cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase during SKY’s defense against Rhea Ripley at WWE Evolution, stealing the win in a chaotic Triple Threat Match. Naomi’s reign, however, lasted just over a month before she shockingly announced her pregnancy and vacated the championship.

Two weeks later, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed that the vacant title would be decided between two top contenders. Stephanie Vaquer earned her shot by outlasting the field in WWE Evolution’s Battle Royal. IYO SKY on the other hand, was originally scheduled to challenge Naomi prior to her announcement.

While the matchup on paper is thrilling, the real story lies in the growing tension between IYO SKY and Asuka. WWE has been planting seeds for a potential program between the two, and with rumors swirling that this could be Asuka’s final championship run, the logical path forward would be to strap up IYO and set the stage for a marquee showdown.

That said, putting the belt on Stephanie Vaquer would instantly establish a new star in the women’s division. However, her inconsistent use on the main roster makes that outcome feel less likely. Either way, the bout has all the makings of an absolute banger, and the result could come down to a coin flip.

Predictions:

  • Joey: IYO SKY
  • Rags: Stephanie Vaquer

Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker vs. The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso)

Jey and Jimmy Uso are set to reunite against The Vision’s Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

Reed and Breakker have been wreaking havoc for months at the behest of World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, most recently injuring Roman Reigns.

When order broke down in a match pitting Jey Uso and LA Knight against Breakker and Reed, Jimmy Uso came to his brother’s rescue. The Usos wasted little time before going to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, who made a tag team showdown official for the PLE.

This one should be a good one, with plenty of star power and chaos. Jey Uso’s looming heel turn feels closer than ever… If WWE wanted to make a major statement on such a historic night, the first PLE under the ESPN banner, this could be the moment.

Predictions:

  • Joey: Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker
