What UFC fighters are asking Santa for Christmas this year
The MMA gloves were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
Who has been naughty and who has been nice? Santa is busy making his list and checking it twice!
As the season of Christmas approaches, The Scrap recently asked some UFC fighters what gifts are at the top of their Christmas lists this year.
Eryk “Ya Boy” Anders (13-4-0) – The middleweight is currently on a 2-win streak. For Anders, a fight contract is the number one thing in his letter to Santa. “Ya Boy” won his last fight in October against Gerald Meerschaert in Tampa, FL.
Gilbert “Durinho” Burns (17-3-0) – With his recent win over Gunnar Nelson in Uruguay, Burns is on a hot streak. The welterweight may have dreams of playing Smash in his new Tesla while it drives itself. He is asking Saint Nick to park the ride in his driveway this Christmas.
Kyle “The Monster” Nelson (13-3-0) – The featherweight had a win against Marco Polo Reyes at UFC Mexico in September. This Canadian is all business with his Christmas wish. All Nelson wants for Christmas is “lots of UFC cards in Canada. I would love to fight four times next year in Canada”. As a fellow Canadian, I have to say that’s at the top of my Christmas list too!
“Smilin” Sam Alvey (33-13-0) – For heavyweight “Smilin” Sam, world peace or Jedi Fallen order for Xbox One are both at the top of his list. Alvey had to pull out of his fight against Maurício Rua in November due to injury, but will hopefully return to the Octagon soon.
Trevin “The Problem” Giles (11-2-0) – The patrol officer for the Houston Police Department is asking Santa for a spot on the Houston card. The UFC returns to the Lone Star State on February 8. The 27-year-old middleweight is looking to redeem himself after his loss in August against Gerald Meerschaert in New Jersey.
I sincerely thank all the fighters who played along and responded with their Christmas wishes. I hope Santa is nice to all of you this year!
