Aaron Jeffery looks to capture second regional title at CFFC 93
Dana White’s Contender Series veteran, and LFA headliner Aaron Jeffery (9-2) will compete in the main event of CFFC 93 when he challenges UFC signee and CFFC champion Collin Huckbody (9-2) for the middleweight title on Friday, March 12.
Currently riding a three-fight win streak with all finishes, Jeffery is feeling confident ahead of his title fight. “I’m sure people are looking at it as a striker vs. grappler thing because a lot of my fights end on the feet, but I think I’ll be comfortable anywhere,” Jeffery told Jay Anderson of Cageside Press.
With his only losses coming to UFC fighters Brendan Allen and Sean Brady, the matchup with Huckbody has to be the ticket to the big leagues both fighters are looking for. It’s one of the best matchups one can make in the regional middleweight division right now — BTC Champion vs. CFFC Champion.
“He’s a Contender Series guy. He won on the show, and he got the contract and turned it down, so he’s obviously a UFC-caliber guy,” said Jeffery to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN. “[He has a] strong grappling base; he’s got a bunch of wins by submission. He looks like a decent wrestler as well. Maybe a little uncomfortable on the feet, but I think he tried to showcase a bit more of the striking in his last matchup, so he’s fairly well-rounded. He’s a tough guy, for sure.”
To prepare for the big night, Jeffery linked up with his last opponent, Andre Petrowski, for some wrestling sessions while in town cutting weight. The Niagara Top Team prospect looks to showcase his skillset at CFFC 93 and bring another shiny belt back home to Canada.
