Cage Warriors 104 Preview: Shore vs. Malone

Read Time:3 Minute, 19 Second

Cage Warriors returns to Wales this weekend as they head to the capital Cardiff for Cage Warriors 104. The event will be headlined by bantamweight champion and local lad Jack Shore (10 -0) who defends against Scott Malone (6-1) in the night’s main event.

#CW104 Main Event

The undefeated Welshman, Jack Shore, will be putting his belt on the line for the first time after capturing the title at Cage Warriors 100 by finishing the previously unbeaten Mike Ekundayo. The 24-year-old has finished 9 of his 10 wins and seems on the precipice of a call to the UFC, something Shore is very much aware of.

“Whether it comes after this fight, two more or three more, I’d love to fight in the UFC, I think I’m ready now.”

Whilst a young talented fighter may well look ahead to bigger things, right now Jack Shore has a huge obstacle standing in his way in Scott Malone. The 31-year-old hailing from Dundee, Scotland presents a sizable task. Since dropping a loss in his debut fight in 2015, Malone has been undefeated. He is currently riding a 6-fight win streak that includes Shore’s teammate, and former Cage Warriors title challenger, Josh Reed.

A fight worthy of the main event status on such a big Cage Warriors card. The Scrap will be there covering it live from the Viola Stadium, Cardiff, April 27.

#CW104 Undercard

The undercard is stacked with a host of talent. Many of the fighters are young and on the rise. Other fighters are well established veterans of the sport, making for a brilliant mix of talent and experience which promises to deliver a special night. A notable name is Tom “Kong” Watson (17-9), who returns to fighting after nearly 4 years out of the sport. The former BAMMA champion and UFC veteran makes his promotional debut in the welterweight division against Aaron Jalid (9-4-1). The card is littered with rising stars. Mason Jones (6-0) is 23 years old and looks to be destined for great things. Already the nights co-main event, Jones will be looking to steal the show and put himself in line for the next lightweight title shot.

Elsewhere on the card Cory McKenna (2-1) makes her return. After dropping her last fight in a decision loss, the highly touted strawweight jumps straight back in the cage. McKenna is only 19 and has all the potential in the world, recently training with Team Alpha Male to fine tune her skills. We look forward to seeing her MMA evolution continue on Saturday night.

#CW104 Amateur Card

Cage Warriors has a brilliant way of meshing their amateur cards with professional fights, giving the young and developing amateur talent the exposure before their careers have really begun. The 10-fight amateur card will include two title fights and gives the fans a value for their money as the bill starts at 4:00pm BST and stretches right through to the main event which will likely be around 11:00pm BST.
