Charlie Johnson vs. Tyler Milner title fight set for AFC 152

Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

Charlie Johnson is set to defend his welterweight championship against his original opponent at Alaska FC 148, Tyler Milner.

After capturing the belt, Johnson called out Milner, in hopes of getting a quick turnaround fight to make up for lost time. “He’s my original opponent and I’d like to defend against him or anybody really,” said Johnson. Milner is an experienced fighter and it goes without saying, tough opponents attract the welterweight prospect.

“Chainsaw” (7-1 MMA) gets his wish as he meets Milner at AFC 152 on Sept. 18th. Johnson is coming into the fight on a 2-fight win streak after injuries kept him out of the game all 2018. He looks to make it three finishes when he meets Tyler in their highly anticipated bout.

Milner (8-5 MMA) is coming off back to back losses, however, is an experienced opponent who knows how to finish fights. Tyler is also comfortable going the distance if need be. After an undisclosed injury kept him from fighting, Milner looks to seize the opportunity he was given back in February.

Johnson hopes to make his first successful title defense next month, live on UFC Fight Pass. It’s only a matter of time before Contender Series comes knocking on the Alaskan’s door.
