Cody Gibson wants to become a UFC mainstay with his second run
Cody Gibson caught up with Jake Noecker ahead of his “re-debut”. The UFC Bantamweight was re-signed following the TUF 31 Finale where he fought Brad Katona. During the sit down, Cody briefly discussed what he learned from being on the show that he’ll take with him throughout this second UFC run. He also touched on why he thinks Michael Chandler vs. Conor McGregor hasn’t happened yet. Spoiler: Dana White confirmed his inkling days after the interview dropped.
At UFC Vegas 89, Gibson looks to enter his bonus era, where he hopes to become a fan-favorite. His main goal is to become a fighter who UFC relies on to put on fun scraps like Billy Quarantillo and Matt Frevola.

Aside from discussing his 8-fight contract, and pushing for a 4-day work week, Cody shares what it’s like teaching kids while being a fighter. He doesn’t like putting the focus on him, since it’s about the kids at the end of the day. But, he likes to use his stories and experiences to show his students he walks the walk and talks the talk.
Let’s also hope his new baby doesn’t decide to come out early. We learned that his baby boy is due seven days after his fight. So he’s praying that his wife doesn’t give birth while he’s in Vegas…
