Dana White’s Contender Series Predictions: Season 3, Episode 6

Read Time:3 Minute, 6 Second

Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) episode 6 will air on ESPN+.

Contender Series has been putting on a show since the Independence Day break. Five fights turned out five contracts in a historic return, then four contacts in the following week, which makes 9 contracts earned in 10 fights. It appears that Contender series has returned in all of its glory.

It seems like the new trend will be the old trend, exciting finishes, and plenty of contracts going out to talented fighters. Dana sent a clear message, he wants “killers,” and so far it seems like the message has come across loud and clear.

The Scrap has predictions for the sixth card this season below.

Michal Martínek vs Rodrigo Nascimento (Heavyweight)

Connor: Martínek is an undefeated prospect out of the Czech Republic. He has finished all of his fights with the exception of one unanimous decision victory. He is also ranked number 2 in the Czech Republic. Nascimento is also undefeated fighting out of Brazil. The UFC always needs heavyweights and with two undefeated heavyweights stepping into the cage, there is a good chance one of them will be getting singed at the end.

Michal Martínek def. Rodrigo Nascimento via TKO in round 1.

Daniel Rodriguez vs Rico Farrington (Welterweight)

Connor: Farrington is 6’4″, and will be distinctively taller than Rodriguez. But Farrington does not have quite a finishing pedigree, more than half of his career wins have come by way of decision. He will take on Rodriguez who has finished just about everyone. East Coast meets West Coast in this battle. Rodriguez is ranked #2 in California and #26 in the U.S. for pro welterweights and Farrington is ranked #18 in Florida and #186 in the U.S.

Daniel Rodriguez def. Rico Farrington via TKO in round 2.

Mariya Agapova vs Tracy Cortez (Flyweight)

Connor: Cortez has only lost one fight in her career and that was her professional debut. She has not finished fighters when they get to a higher level of competition. Agapova is undefeated and a tough fight for the 25-year-old Cortez. Agapova is undefeated for a reason, and has the finishing pedigree that Cortez has not shown consistently.

Tracy Cortez def. Mariya Agapova via unanimous decision.

Steven Nguyen vs Aalon Cruz (Featherweight)

Connor: Nguyen is undefeated as a professional (6-0) and is 11-0 overall. His professional record comes with only one decision victory. Nguyen is a finishing machine and will look to continue that trend towards a UFC contract. Cruz has lost twice to a rear naked choke and Nguyen has a few chokes on his victory sheet. The 26-year-old Nguyen will look to continue his undefeated streak against Cruz who is on a 3-fight win streak of his own.

Steven Nguyen def. Aalon Cruz via submission in round 2.

Aleksa Camur vs Fabio Cherant (Light Heavyweight)

Connor: Two undefeated, young prospects, that are finishers trying to fight for a contract. Both fighters sport a 4-0 professional record, and Camur is undefeated as an amateur as well, totaling an 8-0 record. Camur has sported a KO victory in every fight, and Cherant has submitted, and chocked out every fighter. Does the fight go to the mat or does it stay on the feet? That will determine the winner.

Fabio Cherant def. Aleksa Camur via submission in round 1.
