JockPharm strives to build platform for MMA community to help one another

Before JockPharm, when Luis Mantilla was competing in Kickboxing, he would sometimes train at different gyms.

In every gym they had their own Facebook groups, and in those groups they would discuss all fight related topics — trainings, events, techniques. Due to getting so many different perspectives from combat sports athletes, the idea of JockPharm was born.

“I wanted to create a social media platform for all combat sport athletes to be there, to connect, interact and learn from one another,” said Luis Mantilla. “As I got more into competing I noticed that my first coach wasn’t involved in trying to get me out there, so I started to try to get fights on my own and it was damn hard as I didn’t have the right contacts.”

Fast forward 7 years, and Luis now realized that there were many talented fighters out there that the world has no clue about. Mainly because they don’t know how to market themselves effectively or how to network, and others who don’t have the finances, knowledge or opportunities to work with a management agency.

“I want JockPharm to be the LinkedIn of MMA. I want our platform to teach fighters on how to market themselves effectively.”

Because of this, Luis and his wife, Kristina, have decided to dedicate their time into building a platform where fighters are able to easily connect and have access to market themselves to management agencies, news sources, and potential sponsors with a digital resume on their JockPharm profile.

When you ask Luis why he decided to work with MMA, the answer was simple. He has always been a huge fan of the sport since the first season of TUF came out. With much respect and admiration for the sport, Luis feels that MMA or the people involved in the sport, don’t get the recognition they deserve.

Today, JockPharm aims to change that.

Why Sign Up for JockPharm?

Once you sign up, you will be able to showcase what skills and achievements you have accomplished during your martial arts career. You can also add your bio, photos, and fight record in detail. When you’re ready to start adding other users, you can network with fighters and coaches, create public or private groups, and hopefully be seen by MMA agencies like Dodge Sports.

The short term plan is to offer premium subscriptions for the fighters to be able to connect and contact management and sponsors directly. Luis also wants for users to showcase their events and competitions — so as the site evolves, so will its features.

Being based out of Finland, the MMA scene is still quite new, but rapidly growing in popularity. Working closely with members of the MMA community, Luis’ long term goal is to establish Finland’s first MMA agency. With JockPharm beginning to take off, the hope is to eventually get the platform to a place where fighters in under represented areas of MMA are able to be noticed.

Committed to the MMA Community

The company has shown tremendous growth already since its inception. And unlike most businesses, they have shown a true commitment to fighters, agencies, and podcasters — even during a pandemic.

“At the moment we are working with Dodge Sports. Working with them has been a great and insightful experience,” said Mantilla. “They are now assisting us in getting high-class fighters to join JockPharm. I hope that soon, they will be able to use JockPharm to find good fighting talent.”

Working with Dodge Sports, JockPharm now sponsors a total of six fighters and a MMA podcast called “Behind The Grind.” By the end of the year, the platform hopes to not only increase in its number of users, but will also increase the amount of sponsored fighters they assist.

It takes a lot to build a thriving community, but JockPharm is well on their way doing amazing things for MMA fighters, writers, and fans. On top of the many phenomenal things happening for the brand, Luis and team have started their own podcast to help showcase fighters in a different light. They have also begun their blog which will feature interviews with JockPharm users.

Make sure you see what JockPharm is all about and sign up today. Follow them on Instagram too, for future contests looking for their next sponsored athlete.
