Pedro Carvalho on love for the Dublin crowd prior to Bellator 270

Read Time:1 Minute, 39 Second

Pedro Carvalho will test his skills against Daniel Weichel at Bellator 270. This bout transpires on Friday, November 5th from 3Arena Dublin in Dublin, Ireland, and broadcasts on Showtime.

I spoke with Carvalho at the Bellator MMA pre-fight media day and the excerpt from our interaction is below.

Pedro Carvalho

Carvalho’s characterization that Dublin is the pound for pound best crowd in MMA:

“I mean, I think there’s really not much to say. I think if you’ve been in Dublin Arena, I think it’s really indescribable. Because the crowd is a show itself. You know what I mean? And it’s just, I think you need to be there to realize how good it is and especially now. It’s the first show back since COVID. So I have no doubt that everyone will be super excited. Just to see a fight show, a Bellator show. So it will be extra great.”

“So yeah, but I cannot explain to you. It’s just a thing that you have to see with your own eyes. It’s an experience itself, and that is one of the things I’m more excited about also. Be back fighting of course and the fight itself. But fighting for the first time in front of an Irish crowd. It will be special. It will be truly special.”

The collective momentum of SBG Ireland leading into this individual effort here:

“It’s been good. But it’s been always like that. Every time from January to January it’s like that. But every time there’s a Dublin card, the atmosphere in the gym, it’s special…The work, the grind. Every single one trying to take the best out of each other.”

“It’s always a pleasure to be on the mats on these particular occasions. This one was no different. We are all hard workers and this time was no different. We did what we do best and that’s hard work every single day. And this wasn’t different.”
