TUW 20 Results: Els & Vicente vs. Luff & Rae

Read Time:2 Minute, 45 Second

The fourth round of The Ultimate Writer Season 4 has concluded, and it featured our first-ever redemption week. TUW 20 had a main event between the top two scoring teams for bragging rights. In the co-main event, we saw an 8-way throw-down to ensure only the highest scoring content creators fight for the title of The Ultimate Writer. And yes, it was an elimination round…

If you don’t already know, The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 16 of the best combat sports content creators around the world in a competition where article views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly. But for this round specifically, we had a different set of rules. This round was two weeks long, and each team member’s highest viewed article (from each week) was added together for their total score. For those in the 8-way, it was everyone for themselves.

This fourth card helped us determine who was truly worth competing for the grand prize of $200 and a chance to design a shirt catalog that will be published with Made Dangerous.

See the results for TUW 20 below…

Joey Els & Sergio Vicente (174,734 Views) def. Austin Luff & Steven Rae (324 Views)

There are absolutely no words to describe this matchup. Though it was an absolute slaughtering, it only proved why these two are the current best teams left in the competition. Ever since Joey Els & Sergio Vicente found their footing on our YouTube channel, we’ve continued to see record-breaking views.

As for Austin Luff & Steven Rae, they put up a solid fight… But it wasn’t good enough unfortunately. This matchup was only for bragging rights, but we’re excited to see how Austin does with his new partner to close out the competition.

Katie Vega (214 Views), Cole Henry (195 Views), Lewis Simpson (184 Views) & Juan Reneo (64 Views) move on in the competition

Though we are not surprised about the results since it could have been anyone’s game really, we’re excited to weed out the players who barely got views. Katie Vega, Cole Henry, Lewis Simpson, and Juan Reneo will officially move on in the competition and form new teams.

It will now be Katie Vega & Cole Henry on one team. Which means Lewis Simpson & Juan Reneo will form the other team. As for Josh Diaz (11 Views), Makoa Goble (7 Views), and Lee Brown (39 Views), they’re officially eliminated from the competition. Which leaves Shawn Bitter (60 Views)… He got very lucky that Austin needed a replacement partner. He will be joining Austin Luff and moving forward in the competition.

With so many changes, take a look at the update bracket:

Now that we are heading into the final stages of the competition it’s going to get much more challenging for the content creators. We anticipate some of the best matchups in TUW history and some of the highest view counts we’ve ever had. Here are some things to keep in mind as we move forward:

  • Shawn Bitter & Katie Vega have yet to use their advantages. Expect those to come to light soon.
  • We still have one more Redemption Week left…
