This past weekend was a relatively big one for the 125-pound flyweight division.
At UFC Vegas 5, the former worldwide No. 1 Jennifer Maia played spoiler against the next in line for the title, Joanne Calderwood. Now, one of Brazil’s finest is poised to get the next crack at Valentina Shevchenko.
Invicta FC 41 saw some awesome wins from the rising duo of Monserrat Ruiz and “Cold Blooded” Eri Blanchfield. The latter of which potentially earning a crack at strawweight gold after a dominant main event victory over Janaisa Morandin.
Stamp Fairtex continued to shine in ONE Championship’s return while the ageless Mina Kurobe captured yet another title at Shooto 2020: Vol. 5. As for this coming weekend, there’s some fantastic action being provided from arguably MMA’s three top organizations; UFC, Bellator, and the returning RIZIN Fighting Federation.
