Wednesday Night Wars: AEW Dynamite Week 12 Review

Read Time:1 Minute, 56 Second

The 12th episode of AEW Dynamite was celebrated in Corpus Christi, Texas. For quite some time now, Corpus Christi has been known as a terrible wrestling crowd, but tonight the crowd was on fire.

AEW’s last episode of Dynamite in 2019 was a good show that had a lot of great moments and set up interesting stuff for the future.

Matches

The opener of the show between Omega and Hangman vs. Lucha Bros was an intense and awesome match, it delivered on every aspect. After the match we saw PAC cut a promo on Kenny and attacking Nakazawa. A future feud between Omega and Hangman seems to be in the horizon.

Cody and Allin defeated The Butcher and Blade in a great tag team bout. Allin and Cody had great chemistry with each other and the match worked so well.

Chris Jericho and Jungle Boy tied on a 10-minute limit match. This match was a star-making performance for Jungle Boy. Before the match, we saw a great interview between Jungle Boy and Jim Ross.

Kris Statlander defeated Britt Baker in a solid match, this establishes AEW’s resident alien as the #1 contender for the AEW Women’s Championship.

The main event of the show saw SCU retain the AEW Tag team Championships against The Young Bucks. The match was really good and both teams had great chemistry with each other. After the match, The Dark Order and their minions attacked SCU and The Bucks in the initiation of The Beaver Boys into the cult.

Rating

Another solid episode of Dynamite. The crowd was hot for most of the show except for a few moments. All the matches delivered and ended on the appropriate time. The only negative on the matches could be the result of the main event, The Bucks should’ve won the titles tonight.

The Nightmare Collective (Brandi’s faction) needs still improvement on several aspects, this faction undermined Statlander for the second week in a row, which was a big mistake. Statlander should’ve made a promo after her win on Baker.

Grade: B
