WWE LFG Season 3: Episode 1 Recap
WWE LFG returns for Season 3 on A&E, bringing fans another behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to earn a WWE contract. With two seasons already in the books, this year raises the stakes and promises the most unique season yet.
Familiar faces are back to guide the next generation. Booker T and Bubba Ray will return as coaches, and both Natalya and Kevin Owens join the show as new additions to the panel. Season 1 was claimed by The Undertaker, and Michelle McCool took home the win in Season 2. But this time, everything is different.
There are no more points, no more teams, and no more fighting for an NXT contract. Each week, the legends provide guidance both in-ring and on the mic, shaping the superstars of tomorrow and helping mold the future of WWE one match at a time.
Here’s what went down this week:

Episode Notes
- We learn this season will focus on being ready at any moment for the call, especially when Shawn Michaels comes knocking with an opportunity on NXT.
- Keanu Carver has taken over as the hard-headed personality on the show, clashing with coaches, a role previously filled by Sexy BJ Ray in the first two seasons.
- Kevin Owens doesn’t know what to do with himself while recovering from his injury, which is what led him to coach this season.
- Elijah Holyfield has now been at the Performance Center for a year and is officially back from injury. Harlem Lewis has been at the PC for two years and also returns this season.
- Coaches believe Nikkita Lyons is back from injury in great shape and has shown clear improvement. They see Kali Armstrong as highly athletic and a sponge, absorbing everything she’s being taught. They also want PJ Vasa to own her space and stop being so timid.
- Drake Morreaux is in a sink-or-swim situation this season and could be cut if he doesn’t step it up.
- We find out that Kendal Grey is at the top of the pack, and we also see the moment she was told she was ready for NXT following her match with PJ Vasa in this episode.

The Matches on Episode 1
WWE LFG Match Rating (1–5 Scale)
1️⃣ 😐 Meh / Okay – Not much happened, filler match
2️⃣ 🙂 Decent – Solid wrestling, nothing special
3️⃣ 🔥 Good / Fun – Crowd got into it, entertaining spots
4️⃣ 💥 Great / Must-See – High energy, memorable moments
5️⃣ 🤯 Epic / Instant Classic – Mind-blowing, match of the season candidate
Nikkita Lyons vs. Kali Armstrong
- Results: Kali Armstrong def. Nikkita Lyons
- Rating: 🔥
Super solid match to kick off the season, one of the best in three seasons.
Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley had minimal critiques, other than wanting them to sell things a bit more appropriately.
Keanu Carver vs. Drake Morreaux
- Results: Drake Morreaux def. Keanu Carver
- Rating: 🙂
Prior to the match, Keanu Carver was talking back to the coaches, leading to an intense moment with Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley.
The match itself was okay and had some botches. Coaches felt the guys looked small in there and didn’t fully match their size. The match could have been more physical. Kevin noted that, given Keanu’s vibe, he didn’t expect him to come across so careful.
Overall, improvements can be made on both ends.
Kendal Grey vs. PJ Vasa
- Results: Kendal Grey def. PJ Vasa
- Rating: 💥
Prior to the match, coaches were praising Kendal Grey as a generational talent, and she absolutely delivered.
She’s incredibly solid and already feels like a complete wrestler, which shows in her selling and understanding of in-ring psychology. She just gets it.
This was a great match. PJ Vasa once again rose to the level of her opponent, looking strong and intimidating throughout, while Kendal played the perfect underdog.
After the match, Kendal was awarded an NXT contract by Shawn Michaels.
