Card Preview & Predictions for Sunday Night’s Main Event
SNME is shaping up to be a must-watch event. Below, we break down each matchup, provide our predictions, and highlight the key storylines ahead of the big night:
Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
Joey: I wouldn’t be surprised if WWE has Cody Rhodes win, given that he’s QB1 and rarely loses. But bringing Randy Orton back from injury just to have him lose in his first match back would be stupid.
Brady: I have to agree with Joey’s last line here. I can’t see WWE bringing Randy back just to have him lose immediately. I see Orton picking up the win and continuing the feud.
Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker
Joey: This one has big-match feels written all over it, and Bron Breakker needs the moment more. I’m torn, but I think the right call is for Oba Femi to lose, making him an even bigger babyface. A win for Breakker here could set up a feud that defines the next generation of WWE and reestablish The Vision.
Brady: This is probably the hardest match to predict. But as much as Bron may need a win here, I’m going to predict Oba Femi wins by DQ. Bronson Reed is due back soon and could return to attack, giving The Vision a chance to get back on track.
Baron Corbin vs. Lil Yachty
Joey: The only way to keep this feud going is for Baron Corbin to lose. But I wouldn’t be mad at a Corbin win. Losing to a celebrity is never a good look, and Corbin needs the win as WWE reestablishes him as a serious threat. I also think it’s time for Trick Williams to be in the main title picture.
Brady: I’m going to go with Baron Corbin, strictly based on my belief that your United States Champion shouldn’t lose to a celebrity. That said, I could see Trick getting involved in some fashion.
Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
Joey: Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab’s partnership has been one of the worst I’ve seen in recent memory. They’ve barely helped Jade win matches and constantly lose as a team. If WWE wants us to take them seriously, they need the win here.
Brady: With this being Tatum’s first big match on the main roster, I predict she picks up the win alongside Charlotte and Alexa. While I agree with Joey that Jade and company need the win, I just don’t think they’ll get it.
