Your guide to the finale of The Ultimate Writer
TUW is a competition for The Scrap’s Content Writers and features 14 of the best MMA and pro wrestling writers around the world in a competition of article views. The first round of the inaugural season began May 1st and the winners will be determined monthly when highest article views go head-to-head to crown The Ultimate Writer.
The fourth-round matchups feature pivotal head-to-head wars with many stipulations on the line. Below is your guide to everything you need to know before the fourth round of TUW ends.
The finale is special for more reasons than crowning our first-ever Ultimate Writer. Below are some pertinent announcements for some of the matchups.
- The runner-up of TUW will get the automatic #1 ranking of Season 2.
- The winner of Jordan Ellis vs Austin Luff will enter Season 2 and get to choose their ranking.
- Season 2 coaches will be Kevin Mahoney and Lee Brown.
- The winner of their matchup gets the #1 ranked writer on their team. Loser gets #2 and so on.
- Matt Puppich vs Tyreef Cash is critical for the pro wrestling writer, Puppich, who will have a shot at entering Season 2 at #16.
- If he loses though, he will not be part of the upcoming season.
UNDERRATED MATCHUP
Jordan Ellis vs Austin Luff is a matchup to keep a close eye on. With such high stakes, who will come out on top and enter Season 2 at whichever ranking they choose? Ellis has been the Darkhorse of the tournament and put up a great effort against Joel in last card’s main event. Ellis had the second most views, just had the toughest opponent that month. With such a star-studded main event, many may sleep on this matchup. With that being said, Ellis is no longer the underdog here, so can Luff get back to his winning ways?
MATCHUP OF THE NIGHT
Joel Torres vs Connor Rogowsky is without a doubt, the matchup of the night. This season’s coaches, both have been representing their teams by putting on consistent content getting viewed by many. One of these two men will be crowned The Ultimate Writer. The loser will get another shot in the next season as the #1 ranked writer.
UNDERDOG TO WATCH
Matt Puppich has everything it takes to win this one and get into the next season’s bracket. Although tough matchups await Puppich, he wants his shot at season 2 and he now gets that shot. But first, he must go up against a tough opponent in Tyreef Cash.
