Julia Avila opened up a lot of eyes in her Octagon debut at July’s UFC 239 event and aims to make an emphatic statement to the rest of the women’s bantamweight division the second time around.

“Raging Panda” will square off with Karol Rosa at UFC on ESPN+ 30. The event takes place April 11 in a location yet to be determined in the United States. Avila and Rosa were scheduled to compete at UFC Singapore in October, but Rosa was forced to withdraw from the fight due to an injury.

Avila checked in with The Scrap to discuss her reaction to finding out the news that Rosa was injured and had to withdraw from their originally scheduled bout at UFC Singapore in October, if she has gotten word of where the April 11 event will take place, recently breaking her nose, how not much changes when it becomes “fight camp”, strength and conditioning, her husband recently being deployed, and more.

Check out the full interview with Julia Avila ahead of her UFC on ESPN+ 30 bout with Karol Rosa in the video below.
