AEW'S Roster AEW

AEW: Back On Track

Read Time:1 Minute, 33 Second

2023 was the most challenging year for AEW since its inception back in 2019. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. At times, it felt that a dark cloud followed the promotion everywhere it went. However, much has changed for the best, and things have been feeling like they’re back on track…

You can track the moment AEW was turning things around too. Many would say that it started when the Continental Classic or C2 was announced. This tournament was a sign that the company was moving on from a challenging year, and get back to their core.

Free Agency

Tony Khan has been dominating the free agency market. The signings of Mariah May, Deonna Purrazzo, Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Moné were amazing additions to an already stacked roster. Their additions put AEW’s roster as one of the best of all-time. They are already showing their value for All Elite Wrestling, and the best has yet to come.

Booking

The booking has improved a lot since 2023 as well. It’s much more focused, and the feeling of a united front helps the promotion. Thankfully injuries and unfortunate situations are not impacting AEW backstage like they once were.

A big story in 2024 for AEW is the partnership with CMLL. The addition of CMLL as a working partner has been interesting for the promotion. Both have worked really well with each other so far, and this could lead to seeing more collaboration between the promotions in the future.

The feeling with AEW is back, and the promotion is riding this wave of positive energy that they needed after a forgettable 2023. AEW still needs to improve in certain areas. But overall, they are hot again and AEW fans are loving it.
