Established in 2013, the Houston-based Fury FC has risen to be one of the world’s top regional MMA promotions. Producing UFC talent like Joshua Van, Adrian Yanez, and Ryan Spann, they are sure to continue the trend next year.
Read about five fighters who you should be keeping an eye on in 2025.
Mansher Khera (Lightweight)
32-year-old Mansher Khera is an undefeated lightweight fighting out of Hoboken, New Jersey. He has a record of 8-0, with seven wins coming via stoppage. The former IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship and ADCC World Championships grappler transitioned to MMA back in 2021, competing in the Premiere Fight League.
After winning his amateur MMA debut via first-round Rear Naked Choke, Khera dabbled in bare-knuckle fighting for Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Fighting Championship in December 2021. The talented grappler secured the back of his opponent in this bare-knuckle bout and delivered emphatic ground and pound punches leading to a first-round stoppage.
Since 2021, Khera has been on an absolute tear on the regional scene, utilizing his talent across various promotions. He has fought for promotions like iKON FC, Anthony Pettis FC, CFFC, and Fury FC. Over this three-year span, he has racked up four first-round submission wins. Most recently, he won the Fury FC lightweight title via third-round TKO against Devon Dixon in November.
Michael Aswell (Featherweight)
Arguably Fury FC’s most entertaining fighter, Michael Aswell, 24, is a homegrown product of Fury FC. A Houston, Texas native, Aswell started both his amateur and professional MMA career under the Fury FC banner. He made his amateur debut back in 2018, losing via second-round Rear Naked Choke. However, Aswell was able to bounce back from this debut loss, finishing his amateur career on a five-win streak before turning pro.
Aswell began his professional career in May 2021, winning a unanimous decision on Fury FC 46: Lookin’ For a Fight. The Houston native strung together an impressive seven-fight win streak until it snapped on the losing side of a unanimous decision against undefeated Yadier DelValle, who recently won a unanimous decision on Dana White’s Contender Series in October. Aswell responded to his first professional loss by scoring back-to-back TKOs before earning a shot on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Aswell fought on DWCS in August, where he came up short-handed on a controversial split decision against the highly-touted Romanian Bogdan Grad. In this fight, Aswell set a record for the most strikes on Dana White’s Contender Series. Also, he recently appeared under the Fury FC banner in December. He defeated Dorian Ramos via a split decision over three rounds. The 24-year-old’s record now stands at 10-2-0 as he aims to make the UFC. He has expressed interest in stepping in on short notice for Dana White for early 2025.
Justice Torres (Featherweight)
Justice Torres is a talented 27-year-old featherweight fighting out of Texas. He has a respectable record of 10-2 and is an active fighter. Justice started his amateur career in 2017, losing his debut via third-round TKO. He had five more amateur bouts over four years, going 4-1.
Torres turned pro in 2021, competing on Fury FC 46: Lookin’ For a Fight. He started his professional run on a seven-fight win streak over two years. His winning momentum was halted after being handed back-to-back decision losses in 2023. The 27-year-old has bounced back with three straight wins in 2024 against quality regional competition.
Torres became the Fury FC featherweight champion in October after defeating Vilson Ndregjoni unanimously. He is scheduled to defend his belt against Cameron Graves at Fury FC 100 in January 2025.
Paris Moran (Flyweight)
Paris Moran, 28, is a highly intriguing prospect on the regional scene. The 12-2 flyweight champion started his amateur career in 2018, fighting under three different promotions, one of them being Fury. Over his time as an amateur, he went undefeated through four fights and eventually turned pro in November 2019.
Moran made his pro debut at Fury FC 39, scoring a second-round TKO win over fellow newcomer Daniel Gabriel. He met adversity early in his professional career as he would lose his next fight via first-round standing Rear Naked Choke. Moran handled this loss well with his six-fight win streak before running into Joshua Van. He suffered a second-round TKO loss to Van in August 2022.
During his next five-fight win streak, Moran became Fury FC flyweight champion and successfully defended his title twice. He is scheduled to defend his title against Alden Coria at Fury FC 100.
Imanol Rodriguez (Flyweight)
Imanol Rodriguez, 25, is an up-and-coming undefeated regional prospect in the flyweight division. Fighting out of Mexico, Rodriguez started his MMA career as a professional in November 2022. He would open his pro run with back-to-back second-round TKO victories, fighting for the Budo Sento Championship.
Rodriguez shifted promotions in 2024 as he fought under Combate Global in February. He performed exceptionally well in his lone promotional appearance, securing a first-round Rear Naked Choke victory. Rodriguez would shift promotions once again; ultimately, this time landing with Fury FC. After two canceled bouts, he made his promotional debut in July, earning a first-round TKO win over Tyrell Hill at Fury FC 93.
The young and talented Mexican prospect followed up his performance with a first-round TKO over Albert Trujillo at Fury FC 96 in September. He was scheduled to fight Jesus Urbina on the last card of 2024. But, the fight was canceled.
