Two title fights set for Pancrase 330 on Christmas Day

Decades-old Japanese MMA promotion Pancrase officially has their main and co-main event booked for Pancrase 330, set to take place in Yokohama, Japan on December 25th. The promotion announced the fights on their social media.

In the main event, Taichi Nakajima (15-12-1) fights Toshinori Tsunemura (18-10-4) for the vacant bantamweight King of Pancrase title. Tsunemura has won four straight for Pancrase and looks to close out the year with his third win of 2022.

Nakajima returns to Pancrase—where he is 13-5-1—after an unsuccessful fight with RIZIN last April. He’ll be dropping down for featherweight for this fight, hoping to overpower his older opponent. Despite nineteen bouts in the promotion, this will be Nakajima’s first crack at Pancrase gold.

In the co-main event, flyweight King of Pancrase Satoru Enomoto (8-3) defends his belt against 20 year-old phenom Rei Tsuruya (5-0). The incumbent flyweight king is enjoying a seven-fight win streak, earning the title of king last march in a decision win against Toru Ogawa.

Tsuruya has walked through all five of his opponents, pounding out three and choking out the other two. Last month, he TKO’ed the far more experienced Masatatsu Ueda at Pancrase 329. He’s already beaten opponents plenty more experienced than Enomoto, meaning if he can win the belt this December, he could get the notice of much larger organizations.
