Your Guide to the UFC 315 Prelims

Read Time:3 Minute, 54 Second

UFC 315 is set to deliver one of the most exciting cards of the year on Saturday, May 10th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. With two championship fights headlining the event—Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena for the welterweight crown, and Valentina Shevchenko vs. Manon Fiorot for the flyweight title—the spotlight is bright. But before the main card kicks off, the prelims offer plenty of must-watch action.

Stacked with rising prospects, fan favorites, and pivotal matchups, the prelims could easily produce some of the night’s most memorable moments. Whether you’re tuning in for potential title eliminators or to catch the next breakout star, the prelims are where the night truly begins.

Modestas Bukauskas vs. Ion Cutelaba

Expect fireworks here. Modestas Bukauskas and Ion Cutelaba are two action-first light heavyweights who don’t know how to take a backward step. Cutelaba, known for his aggressive style and fast starts, will look to overwhelm early. While Bukauskas has the technical edge and the durability to drag the fight into deeper waters. Both fighters will need to respect the power coming back at them. Don’t be surprised if this fight gets bumped to the main card should any late fight cancellations occur.

This is a classic prospect vs. prospect battle. Navajo Stirling impressed in his UFC debut with a gritty performance, earning himself a win via decision. While Ivan Erslan fell short in his first Octagon appearance, it was against Ion Cutelaba. Both men are eager to establish themselves in the promotion, and with styles that favor action, this could turn into an underrated banger. Making their debuts on a PPV will give both fighters a platform to start their climbing the light heavyweight rankings.

Daniel Santos vs. Jeong Yeong Lee

Daniel Santos trains out of Chute Boxe in São Paulo, Brazil, and holds a 2-1 record in the UFC. He has struggled to stay active, with five canceled fights compared to just three actual appearances. Despite the setbacks, the UFC continues to match him with high-level opponents, signaling their belief in his potential. Normally a bantamweight, Santos steps in on short notice at featherweight after Gavin Tucker withdrew, a move that could benefit him given his history with injuries and fight cancellations. He faces Jeong Yeong Lee, a fast-starting, first-round finisher who thrives on early pressure. If Lee sets the tone early, Santos’ cardio could be tested—but if he survives the opening storm, the fight could get interesting. Both men will be hunting for a quick finish, making this an action-packed matchup to watch.

Jéssica Andrade vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius

This one could easily headline the prelims—or even jump to the main card if needed. Former champion Jéssica Andrade is looking to reestablish herself as a title contender. While Canada’s own Jasmine Jasudavicius continues her impressive climb through the flyweight division in hopes of becoming a title challenger for the first time. Jasudavicius is usually the stronger, more physical fighter. But, Andrade will be by far the toughest test of her career to date. Despite Andrade being the younger fighter, she is much more experienced.

Mike Malott vs. Charles Radtke

Keep an eye on this one — it has all the ingredients to be a Fight of the Night contender. Mike Malott and Charles Radtke are both versatile, tough, and aggressive. Malott will have the hometown crowd behind him, while Radtke brings a scrappy, finish-seeking style. The fight could go either way, and the winner will establish some real momentum in the crowded welterweight division. Both men are well-rounded enough to adapt mid-fight, but it’s hard to imagine this one going the distance.

UFC 315 is stacked from top to bottom, and the prelims are no exception. From important divisional battles to high-stakes matchups for rising prospects, there’s plenty to tune in for long before the title fights begin. The Canadian crowd will come ready to support their hometown fighters, so the atmosphere will be electric as well. Don’t miss it—you might just witness the next breakout star emerge in Montreal.
