Season 2, Episode 8: ‘Top Dog’
The eighth episode, Top Dog, aired on August 17, 2025 on A&E. The episode kicks off by revisiting Bubba Ray’s crash out at the end of last week. He doubles down on his belief that Zena Sterling is the one to beat, while Michelle McCool argues he’s overlooking Penina Tuilaepa, who she feels has been leading the season and looks like a real contender to win it all.
We then see Sirena Linton meeting with medical staff after last week’s events. She reveals she’s been cleared to compete. Soon after, Shawn Michaels addresses the group, discussing the importance of handling injuries. It’s revealed that Elijah Holyfield is sidelined with an injury, and his return remains uncertain.
Shawn then shifts focus to the competition, announcing that it’s time to determine the top dogs of LFG at mid-season. The legends will make their picks, and those chosen will compete in matches this week.
After the matches are set, Booker T pulls Bubba Ray aside to discuss Harlem Lewis’ attitude, noting that he acts like he knows it all. The Matches on Episode 8
Zena Sterling def. Sirena Linton
The match begins with Zena Sterling in control. She does a great job of getting the crowd to rally 100% behind her. Sirena Linton seizes momentum by pulling Zena’s hair, drawing boos and firing up the audience. Zena quickly battles back, stringing together a series of clotheslines to regain control.
The finish came when Sirena attempted a Molly Go Round, but Zena dodges and hits her finisher to score the pinfall victory.
BJ Ray def. Harlem Lewis
The match starts with a lock-up as BJ Ray takes Harlem Lewis into a headlock. Harlem quickly powers out and goes on the attack, showing aggression as he takes BJ outside and slams him hard. Back in the ring, Harlem continues the assault until the crowd rallies behind BJ, giving him the momentum to fight back.
The legends note that BJ is working too small. But, just as Harlem looks ready to regain control, BJ surprises him with a roll-up for the unexpected win.
Bayley Humphrey def. Penina Tuilaepa
Penina Tuilaepa and Bayley Humphrey lock up in front of a live crowd, each showcasing their power. Bayley surprisingly tosses Penina around, something rarely seen, before Penina adjusts, outsmarts her, and sends Bayley to the floor. On the outside, Penina slams Bayley into the barricade and the ring, targeting her back.
Back inside, Penina stays in control, hitting a spear, but Bayley survives by grabbing the ropes. Penina then lands a crushing Samoan Drop in the center of the ring, yet Bayley still kicks out. Showing grit, Bayley fights back, rallies, and lands her finisher to score the win.
Anthony Luke def. Shiloh Hill
Anthony Luke barely lets Shiloh Hill settle in after his entrance before launching an attack. Shiloh eventually fires back, with the live crowd fully behind him, and controls much of the match. Just as momentum is on his side, Anthony digs his fingers into Shiloh’s eyes. He then hits his Lights Out finisher to secure the quick win.
