Steveson enters the UFC with significant hype. His decorated wrestling background, highlighted by Olympic gold and multiple NCAA titles, and training alongside Jon Jones, has made him one of the most anticipated prospects in recent memory.
He holds a 3-0 professional MMA record and has been openly campaigning for this opportunity. Despite being early in his career, he’s already a massive name and could inject new life into the heavyweight division.
What makes this debut particularly notable is the stage. International Fight Week is one of the UFC’s biggest annual events. The UFC placing Steveson on that card signals immediate belief in his star potential.
Regardless, the message is clear. The UFC is fully invested in Gable Steveson. After his Dirty Boxing fight, we allueded to Steveson havig a discussion with UFC Matchmaker Mick Maynard and the path being laid out.
