Jon Moxley is the biggest free agent in pro wrestling, does he end up on AEW or IMPACT?

Read Time:2 Minute, 40 Second

WWE confirmed in January of this year that Dean Ambrose would not be re-signing with the company, and while many thought it was storyline it seems he is in fact leaving the company.

On April 30th under the Jon Moxley name, he posted a well produced vignette which ended with him staring into the camera with a fistful of barbed wire. This leads us to speculate if he is coming back to wrestling soon, where will he end up?

There are two wrestling companies that are most likely to sign one of the biggest free agents in wrestling.

IMPACT Wrestling

While I think this is the least likely of the two, it is the most interesting one. You’ve heard me sing IMPACT’s praises and I think the buzz of Moxley signing with them would be the kick in the pants the company needs. I think there are also a few really good possible feuds on IMPACT, and it would be extremely interesting to see what they would do with him. There is one feud I really want to see, Jon Moxley vs Sami Callihan and OvE, I just think that would be top level.

He is also from Ohio, so they could even go down the road of him joining the faction which would just be one of the best thing’s in wrestling. I think this option is unlikely for Moxley, but not only would it be surprising, it would also be extremely interesting on all ends.

All Elite Wrestling

I think this is the most likely option for Moxley, he does not have a 90 day no compete clause, so he could very well show up at Double or Nothing on May 25th. Also, if you watch his video that he tweeted, there is a pair of dice in one of the scenes which is obviously part of the AEW logo. This would be a huge get for the upstart company and just on name value alone, would be a beneficial signing for All Elite Wrestling. It would also be interesting to see Moxley in an environment like this to see how much we weren’t seeing during his WWE run.

He is arguably the biggest free agent in wrestling and for him to go from WWE to AEW would be groundbreaking. There are also many matches in All Elite that Dean would thrive in, but there is one I want to see more than all of them: Jon Moxley vs Jimmy Havoc. Obviously Moxley was the King of the Deathmatch, and Havoc is the current King of the Deathmatch so this is a match made in heaven. This obviously won’t happen at DoN, but if he signs with the company long term, they need to do this match. That being said, there are several intriguing matches for Moxley: Cody, Joey Janela, and Pentagon Jr. just to name a few.

No matter where Moxley chooses to go, it will be one of the biggest moments in wrestling, and he is the most interesting free agent in wrestling right now by far.
